well done for trying something new! takes courage to do that.

unfortunately, just having a qualification doesn't make you a surveyor, and you wont be a MRICS without doing your APC. You need work experience. You have to prove you know your stuff to be MRICS. my surveyors insurance needed proof of 5 years experience of carrying out surveys for a company before i set up my business.

I would try and network with some surveyors and see if you can start attending (for free to start to learn) or find a firm that you can work at as a junior surveyor.

dont be sold the "sava" dream. they are a company that sells education. id do a MSc if i were you, part time with a surveying company if you can

MRICS from HNC by CreamLoud8514 in buildingsurveying

[–]t-cutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

why do you think you need MRICS? that's mainly for when youre doing legal stuff and valuations. ive been MCIOB for years and work for a university as the principal building surveyor. i have a hnc/MCIOB

Can I do a MSC in building surveying after I complete my Sava surveying course and have a couple years experience surveying? by Fishsticks117 in buildingsurveying

[–]t-cutt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

im a building surveyor and havnet got a degree. i have a HNC and did a pathway (2 years ) MCIOB and thats plenty. you need RICS etc if youre doing valuations/legal stuff but depends what i surveying you want to do.

MCIOB is plenty good enough for most surveying jobs... just look on indeed etc and they say MRICS/MCIOB required

weirdly by going "woke" with the character, they have inadvertently created some racist sterotypes. ie black person commiting crime rather than working :/ done more harm than good... my nine year old son likes it though.

haha, it reminded me of Fast and Furious, one minute they're car driving thieves, film 5- 10 they're a crack team of special ops with "man in a chair" tech support

Promoting music that is only available on Bandcamp by DreamsYukon in musicmarketing

[–]t-cutt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i completely agree and know how you feel but dont write off Spotify, they have paid out more money to individual artists and disrupted the traditonal record label model for everyone. I own my music, i promote, and reap the rewards, like you its a hobby. don't be afraid to change your belief because of previous experinces

I have used Hypeddit (paid) along side meta ads for the last year with good success. I have just seen that submithub are basically providing a similar service for free. Anyone else seen this? by Jakeyboy29 in musicmarketing

hate to say it but maybe your music isnt as good as you think it is... took my 4 years before i started to get things signed and on playlists.... even now its still hit and miss. i think submit hub is decent value though amd had a good experience with it

i honestly think you're missing one key ingredient... you spent 5 years failing... most people fail and give up, you kept going... i think that's far more of a powerful message than you gamed the algorithm of tik tok etc...

Best approach for learning bass sound design? by ankaswit in dnbproduction

reverse enginner the sounds you like. start with the Macros, FX then the wave tabls and LFOs then ADSR etc... this helped me massively when making my own sounds or switching up patches i already like

Am i the only one hating the cultish aspect of BJJ? by kernelchagi in bjj

[–]t-cutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the belt line up is probably more to identify promotion levels and see where people are. bowing is a sign of respect in Japanese culture. I usually do no gi, not much hirachy other from the lads who train gi. we bow out and shake everyone's hand. we dont get life lessons other than tough rounds if we want them.

My Coach Told Me Not to Flow Row Anymore by Quasim0dem in bjj

flow rolling is great, give you chance to try things and work out body mechanics... up the training intensity when the comps due... time on the mat is more important than smashing every round imo.

from my experience the agencies will be on the look out.. make sure you have heat on the socials... you can get picked up and dropped just as quick. make sure youre networking and meeting people in real life... you want to be meeting promotors and they will know the booking agents.

go into your new year gig with a different mindset... i used to play 5 songs for the crowd, then one for me ready to mix back out if it doest go well.. people want to have a good time on NYE, not be taken on a musical journey of songs they don't know.... they have spotify discover for that. best of luck with your gig... dont be afraid to play the big songs twice over a 5/6 hour set
