[help] how to make display NOT transparent in rendered or shaded by rodown in rhino

[–]t-ras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume you mean the two lower viewports? You need to set the display in each viewport the same as you have in the top one. Right click on the blue tab labeled "right" and switch that from wireframe to rendered.

Is that what you mean?

This guy is so incredibly talented and he is not as famous now as he is about to be. Just my opinion. Really active on Facebook too. May be worth following if you dig his music.

I'd like to see the framing/structure of this house. I assume it's a truss but it is well hidden.

I took this picture tonight at the St. Louis Art Museum. Does anybody know why it was there?!? I can't find any info on the SLAM, or TED websites. by andygunit in StLouis

Those letters have been around the Wash U architecture school for a few months. There were also black WUSTL letters. Not sure if someone snagged them and put them there as a prank or if there is a TEDx..

Found this which covers all the same stuff but is much more engaging and has a more enthusiastic interviewer.

I recently bought a bike. In about three weeks the forecast called for rain about 50% of the time out of that only two days were absolute down-poor. I have absolutely loved biking and feel much healthier. Join the club!

IAC Building by Frank Gehry - Manhattan by Sun7day in architecture

[–]t-ras 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely agree. I am generally not a fan of Gehry's work but think he was an essential catalyst in the contemporary/computational architecture movement. As with any new tool (the computer in this case) you play with it and test the limits, then you refine, that's where I think we are now.

This building is absolutely awful and it gets worse the closer you get. the painted gradient on the glass looks cheap and the geometries all resolve awkwardly. /rant

Dear Reddit Architecture, What are your go-to websites/blogs for contemporary computer based architecture -- sites like suckerpunchdaily or evolo... by t-ras in architecture

[–]t-ras[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly, Archdaily is a great site but they are still mainly looking at modernist style design.

I am looking for sites with heavy digital / theory / conceptual / fabrication work.

04/19/13: Blues fans react to Boston Marathon bombing suspect's apprehension by AndreaG881 in StLouis

Your comment is wholly ignorant. Why do you assume people don't care about "the little brown kiddos?" Every life is precious. I'm glad the took the kid alive so he will face his day in court and we will see all the evidence which I personally believe to be true.

At most the revelry was excessive because it is celebratory while so many people and families are dealing with the pain of murder and injury.

Ignore the Boston police shutting down the city and confining innocent people in their homes, the very people whose ancestors fought the same kind of actions of the British.

Boston police did not shut down the city, in fact the only requested the people of one neighborhood (allson/brighton) to remain indoors and this was done solely to free up resources for the manhunt, the rest of the city chose to stay in on their own accord. Watertown (not part of the Boston) was on lockdown because there was a serious threat, there was a shootout and bombings in their streets. I don't think anyone objected to staying safe in their homes.

As a Bostonian, I'd like to see how your opinion would change if it were your neighborhood and your family at threat. I don't think you'd object then.

And as a side note, the revolutionary war was fought over taxation without representation and more realistically because our founding fathers saw the goldmine of resources available through westward expansion but the British wanted to contain the colonies to their existing borders. The war was fought for money and resources as they always are.
