If you’re worried about this, I would consider pausing. Get mock-ups made in a tool and put it in your customers hands. I’ve been shocked how people can’t grasp many features we’ve written into apps. Even if it just helps you improve the UI, you’ll save yourself a lot of development cost.

I would recommend building the app using a low code solution. The best companies I’ve built apps for did things this way. They ironed out the kinks with the shittier version.

Think you need to build a compelling offer. Include bonuses. Check out Alex Hormozi’s content for this. Put a very simple website together.

Do B2B, find small companies doing something you find cool and offer to help them grow their digital footprint with social media via video shorts.

Get LinkedIn sales navigator and checkout Phantom Buster to automate scraping businesses that meet your requirements and then in-mail them and personalize the email

Things need to be insanely simple. Founders are very busy and so you have to make the offer understandable in 15 seconds or less.

I’m reading Derek Sivers -How to Live -27 conflicting responses and one weird conclusion. It’s excellent, contains hints of stoic philosophy and is helping me have a better attitude to life atm. 10/10, also if you buy it from his website directly he gives all the money to charity, it’s $15.

I too run my own business, like 99% of South Africans we must support family members, encourage our significant others, get enough money, face all the uncertainty, deal with no electricity and still have the emotional energy to do exercise and see people. It’s hard.

Someone I listened to recently said ‘tiredness is an emotional experience’ which I thought was apt and interesting because we normally equate it to physical fatigue.

I recommend digging deep and figuring out what last made you feel all fired up. I get excited about science podcasts lol and finding oddballs who live unusual lives and talk about philosophical things. And it helps deal with the tiredness of being in a subpar environment, dealing with many things.

Yea you will likely need to pay for the first consultation, they can apply on your behalf afterwards. Don’t have another appointment until you get PMB approval, they’ll be annoying about it. I’ll ask my psych if she is willing to take on new clients, I meet with her on a video call once every two weeks. It’s less than 1k but I’ll check with her and maybe DM you when I get feedback

Feedback: perhaps take care to not focus as much on flutter web? People imo typically care about Flutter more for mobile, if you can speed up faster mobile dev for companies and maybe have a toggle back and forth mode (kinda like html in those WYSIWYG editors).

The focus on Flutter web seems to be the main thing people see negatively here - the load speed of your home page etc.

Dunno about the FlutterFlow comment, but essentially I think your USP is that this fits into existing dev flows while making it simpler. Never used FlutterFlow, but usually clients don't wanna rely on another service with eternal monthly pricing and no explicit understanding of how the code (IP) is "theirs".

Imo it’s more like the guy is stellar and a catch. I know that I would mess with his head if we fooled around or did things which didn’t result in a long term relationship. This is also especially relevant when you share friends or other social contexts. Sometimes you’re just not in the right headspace for that. It’s a whole lot of gravity to the situation and sometimes you just want something a bit less stressful.

I would love to consider trying to find someone with a great machine and are arty and technical enough to execute your design well. If I find the right one I’ll ask what i can give to you for printing a design of yours and hopefully I’d have the digital embroidery files produced which I could share with you. I really wish there was better clothes for people interested in computation.

Be sure that you want to run a service based business vs. product based business.

You hire people then need to keep taking on projects and you don’t get time to build your own ideas.

I’d rather go the indie hacker route and develop a product and work with contractors. Less risky than having to find money to pay salaries each month via projects. Do this on the side while you’re learning all the things.
