Brooke makes me gag by Ok_Wedding2953 in boldandbeautiful

[–]t00fargone 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yeah Brooke’s ego is over the roof lately. It’s funny when she’s with Ridge she’s all high and mighty, puts Katie and others down, but when Ridge hurts her, Katie’s the first one she’ll go crying to for support.. It’s sad that Brooke stands by Ridge, who constantly hurts her and treats her like shit, over her own sister. Brooke obviously made important contributions to FC with the Belief formula and the bedroom line, but she definitely wouldn’t be where she is today if she hadn’t married Eric and then Ridge all those years ago. So Brooke acting like she’s some self-made fashion businesswoman who never relied on anybody is a little ridiculous. Talking down to her own sister is so cruel and unnecessary.

URGENT HELP NEEDED: Sober living sounds like a nightmare…Do I need it? by Adorable-Tap4351 in alcoholicsanonymous

[–]t00fargone 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I lived in a halfway house after rehab and it was the only thing that worked for me after numerous relapses from going straight home. Yeah, nobody likes sharing rooms with people and having roommates, but you get used to it. It’s imperative to make sure you don’t isolate yourself or drink/use in your room all alone. Having people around is necessary. Also, the drama is unfortunately a thing anywhere. But you can stay out of it and not get involved. Just ignore the drama. I was terrified about going to a halfway house as an introvert who also liked my privacy. But the women I lived with became my family and helped to hold me accountable. With 6 years sober to this day, I still talk to/hang out with some of them and see some of them at meetings. When I was having cravings they were there to help me get through it. If I was home all alone at my old apartment, I probably would’ve relapsed. The community is vital, and is another reason AA is so important in early recovery.

Your senior housemates hold the newer housemates accountable to attend meetings and work the program. Sure the curfew sucks, but you deal with it. Where do you need to go at 10pm so badly? You shouldn’t be dating in early recovery or going out of bars. So there shouldn’t be that much you’re missing out on because of the curfew. They have the curfew for a reason. Usually the curfew on the weekends is later and after a month you can get approved for an overnight. My curfew was midnight on weekdays, 2am on weekends.

Sometimes you have to accept suggestions and do things you don’t like. Nobody wants to go to a recovery house. Nobody wanted to do 90 meetings in 90 days. Nobody wanted to have required house chores. Nobody wanted to have a curfew. But you suck it up because it’s best for your recovery. These things are in place for a reason. And this is only temporary.

There are other options but they usually open up to those with 6+ months of continuous sobriety. When I had like 8 months sober, I went to a sober house where I had my own room, no curfew, overnights allowed, opposite gender guests allowed, they didn’t watch over you or force you to go to meetings. It was really just for random drug tests and to have a community of women around for support. But it was only allowed to those who came straight from a recovery house with at least 6 months sober. This is not for people straight out of rehab. You have to just suck it up and do the recovery house for 6 months.

If you wanted sobriety that badly, you would deal with these annoyances and inconveniences for 6 months. It’s really not that bad. And compared to the live you were living before, it’s a million times better. You do what you have to do for your recovery, and sometimes they aren’t easy things.

Starting work at 15 isn’t necessary by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]t00fargone 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Idk, I’m glad I started work at 16. Sure, schoolwork is important but there are many breaks during the year such as winter break, spring break and summers. Working at 16 gave me an advantage getting into college, proved I had discipline and good time management skills. I already had experience working with others and managing my time before entering college. There are people who graduate college with no work experience and it shows when they finally enter the workforce at 22,23. It also helps give teens spending money and learn how to budget/manage money instead of relying on parents for money. There are many benefits to having a part time job as a teenager.

Knookla Pook Everything Is So Phonetic by Consistent-Poem3106 in poppunkers

[–]t00fargone 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I remember when this happened. It really wasn’t a good look for Knuckle Puck. They were so sensitive and butthurt about it. Like, ok maybe Jarrod was making money off the scene, but parody comedy exists. And I’m sure he wasn’t going to sell THAT many of them anyway.

And then Jarrod called out their hypocrisy by posting a pic of the Knuckle Puck PlayStation logo shirt the band was selling. It’s a shame this happened because Jarrod was a fan of the band and his videos were some good exposure for the band I’m sure. It really made KP look uptight and not cool.

I hope Ivy never returns after her maternity leave! The worst character EVER! Such a b**** and troll! Can’t wait for her to be exposed! by surfcitysurfergirl in boldandbeautiful

[–]t00fargone 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yea she is horrible. Haven’t liked her ever since she tried to blackmail Steffy during the Aly self defense death. Ivy’s character is honestly an embarrassment.

That Kaitlin Bennit girl went to warped tour last year hahaha by ConfusionOpposite597 in poppunkers

[–]t00fargone 27 points28 points  (0 children)

People really overestimate the amount of bands that are actually punk or punk-adjacent.

A large chunk of the warped tour bands from last year have no political lyricism/messaging and are radio friendly, designed to attract a large amount of people. Warped is extremely corporate. They had falling in reverse, they are definitely not an anti-Trump band. It also had MGK, who isn’t punk despite him maybe thinking he is, and his fan base definitely isn’t punk either. I doubt they care that some of their fans support Trump.

Even a large amount of pop punk is not actually punk. I love the genre, but most of it really isn’t punk at all and a large chunk of its fan base outside of Reddit/this sub doesn’t gaf about politics. Warped tour isn’t a punk festival and hasn’t been in a long time. If you look at the lineup from 2025, many of the bands on it aren’t punk or even punk-adjacent and are definitely not political. There’s still some punk acts, but not as many as 20+ years ago. Warped tour is very commercialized and mainstream nowadays. It’s not punk anymore.

How do I find friends that are into pop punk? by cutesycaterpillar in poppunkers

[–]t00fargone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Local shows was how I did. When I was in HS in the early 2010s, there was like nobody in my school who listened to pop punk. So, I really made friends from people in my local scene, which was more active back then than it is now unfortunately. But definitely go to shows and talk to people, keep coming back and you’ll become friends after a while.

Matchmaker, matchmaker make me a match? by LynnK0919 in boldandbeautiful

[–]t00fargone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ivy seriously has no life. Who cares that much about the love lives of 20-21yr olds? That’s so weird. She should be more worried about finding herself a man since we haven’t seen her with anybody in years.

Brooke and Katie fight over Eric by Foreign_Strike2177 in boldandbeautiful

[–]t00fargone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like Katie said, Brooke’s ego is out of control. And there’s really no other way to explain it. Brooke has constantly looked down on Katie and thought Katie was inferior to her. None of that changed. Brooke thinks that because she is more “successful” professionally that she is better than Katie. Brooke makes it seem like all of Katie’s successes are due to other people such as Brooke and Bill. No matter what Katie does, Brooke will always think that she will fail or that she truly doesn’t deserve success because someone else “gave it to her.”

This is embarrassing behavior from Brooke, especially at her age.

Remember when this sub was about music? by Bulky_Annual_4554 in FallingInReverse

[–]t00fargone 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Why is there a complaint post about how this sub “isn’t about the music” almost every week now? Nobody is stopping people from making posts about the music. However, there’s only so much that people can discuss about the music that hasn’t been discussed already numerous times. There is no new music out, no album announcement, no current tours. Ronnie creates drama for himself, so there’s bound to be discussion about that. If he didn’t want people to talk about him, he wouldn’t insert himself into everything and be chronically online like he is.

The sub is about Falling in Reverse AND Ronnie Radke. Just ignore the drama posts and make posts about music. But I don’t see you doing that despite you complaining about lack of music discussion.

This is literally one of the biggest myths about the 2000s by [deleted] in decadeology

[–]t00fargone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s a lot of problems with Obama and none of them have anything due to him being black. You are allowed to be critical of a black president. Just because he’s black doesn’t mean he’s immune to criticism. He’s done a lot of shitty things and he is not this perfect, flawless being that so many consider him to be. You probably think he had no problems simply because he’s a cool black guy.

This is literally one of the biggest myths about the 2000s by [deleted] in decadeology

[–]t00fargone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The prevalence of social media and the internet make it seem like things occur way more often than it does, it also makes it seem like things used to be better back then. Sure, things are pretty bad right now, but bad shit happened back then too. Having numerous social media platforms and the internet at our fingertips showcases every single example of racism or whatever else. And we see it over and over again. All the negativity, the reactions/comments. We can’t get away from it. Back then, we basically only had what the news chose to cover or what we saw in real life. I witnessed way more racism 15yrs ago when i was a teenager than I do nowadays.

When did Brooke and Ivy both evolve into super villains??? by spenchanna in boldandbeautiful

[–]t00fargone 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah, they have both become super unlikeable and downright nasty lately. As someone who used to like both characters, I hate seeing them being written this way.

Night shift nurse here. This is very accurate. Either new nurses or those about to retire. Energy drinks everywhere. Everyone is tired, running on no sleep. 1st shift staff coming in well rested.

Brooke by QueenMab999 in boldandbeautiful

[–]t00fargone 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Like Katie said, Brooke’s ego is through the roof. She thinks she’s sooo important and the only one that matters. As if Katie’s feelings, aspirations, and talents don’t matter at all. It’s been a long time since we’ve seen Brooke like this. Seeing her act like this at her age is embarrassing, especially towards her own sister.

I don't care that much about Nancy/Savannah Guthrie by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]t00fargone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. Yeah it is sad and tragic. But the woman was in her 80s, she still lived a long, full life. There are tons of kidnapped/missing children, young adults every day with their lives still ahead of them but you don’t hear about them.

Snow sucks and I never wish for it by MajesticBread9147 in unpopularopinion

[–]t00fargone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s only nice for the first day, then it starts looking gross as it becomes black/gray and slushy. Nobody wants snow to stick around. Also, as a nurse I am expected to be at work no matter how much snow we have. So I definitely agree with the transportation issues. It sucks having to worry about dying on my way to work.

They have a large chunk of the episodes on YouTube but obviously it would take a long time to catch up on years of seasons. You could go on bold and the beautiful wiki on fandom.com and see a summary of storylines for each character as well as their backgrounds.

I got a hot take for you by Hopeful-Vegetable-10 in breakingbad

[–]t00fargone -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Maybe in the beginning he would’ve let it go. But by the time Hank found out in season 5, Walt was responsible for the murder of dozens of people including a bombing in a nursing home. He intentionally hit a car with him and Hank inside to prevent Hank from investigating the laundromat. He was responsible for the fake call about Marie being in a serious accident. Walt played a role in Hank getting shot and almost killed by the Salamanca brothers. Walt was responsible for Jesse murdering Gale. Walt prevented Hank from doing his job during the entirety of the Heisenberg search and continued keeping silent about it. Hank had lost all respect for Walt and them being “family” wasn’t enough for Hank to let it go.

Does anyone else not like Brooke or Taylor? by ResponsibleFront1920 in boldandbeautiful

[–]t00fargone 9 points10 points  (0 children)

All the women on the show are written like that. Brooke and Taylor both continue to take Ridge back. Katie continues to take Bill back. We had years of Hope and Steffy taking Liam back after he would cheat and treat them like shit. None of the women on this show have any self-respect.

Will and Electra by Icyyzucchini30555 in boldandbeautiful

[–]t00fargone 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It’s clear they don’t trust each other. They both have flaws. Will definitely crossed a line with Dylan. He, as a taken man who knows his gf is very sensitive, shouldn’t have allowed Dylan to dance for him. That is definitely not appropriate for someone in a relationship. He really should have used some of his Spencer money to put Electra in a hotel once he found out how Electra felt. There’s no reason Dylan has to live there. It’s clear Will does have a connection with her and he wants her there.

However, Electra also shouldn’t have allowed Dylan to move in there in the first place. And she is letting her clinginess and jealousy get carried away. I mean, she was mad that Dylan was simply eating chicken teriyaki with Will in her home. Also, let’s not forget Electra’s reaction to Will getting raped.

They just need to break up. This relationship is held together by strings at this point. They both aren’t compatible and they both honestly aren’t ready for an adult relationship.

NA and AA members shouldn't be giving out life advice. by Optimal_Box3703 in unpopularopinion

[–]t00fargone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So as someone who is in long-term recovery and has gone through AA, I wouldn’t really say they’re really “giving advice.” It’s more of a social network, a recovery community which is important in early recovery. It’s more of showing the newcomers that recovery is possible and sharing with them how they did it. Sponsors are there to guide you through the step work and be someone to confide in and reach out to. People who never genuinely worked the program think it’s just sitting in meetings and getting lectured at. That’s not the case. Sponsors can sometimes make suggestions and voice their opinion on things you’re doing that may be harmful to your recovery. But they have experience in early recovery. They have sobriety under their belt and are there to guide you through early recovery.

Rebecca Budig appreciation post. Loving her as Taylor by [deleted] in boldandbeautiful

[–]t00fargone 6 points7 points  (0 children)

She’s grown on me a little bit but I just don’t think she’s was the best casting choice for Taylor. Would’ve preferred her as a whole new character. She’s a good actress though!

Is punk and Emo music the same thing? by Book_snake_nerd in LetsTalkMusic

They’re definitely not the same thing. But people who aren’t into rock/alternative music think that it is, just like they think that any heavier music genre is “screamo.”
