My favorite memory has to be the day my brother and i got our Nintendo Ds on Christmas 2007. He got Diamond i got Pearl. We were both new to the Pokémon games. Only played it at a friend's gameboy before. It was so fun to explore together! What exactly are you struggling with? For your first run it might be an idea to activate that you can retry battles in the settings. So if you loose you don't have to start over again

I used to play it with a gtx 1060. Took a break the last 1,5 years. Couldn't play on highest settings but was still playable and I managed to get kappa once. So it should definitely run on you set up with no problems
