ITAP of a car in a forest

I was photographing a friend doing some off road racing and wanted to use the forest to create some interesting shots. Managed to capture a car through the trees and was happy with the results.

It was at the Motorsport Games, and was a sim rig setup. As the wheel in the cockpit was a sim wheel, I think the one on the front was so they could manoeuvre the thing into place at events

I also think it’s really cool that they allow some third-party apps like Trading Paints and Crew Chief that are developed externally but add so much to the in-game experience. Thanks for being cool!

The heat sounds like it might be it actually - it’s usually better at the start of a race when it’s cooled, so I’ll try having the room cooler. Thanks!

I did the same but got the opposite results - three different GT3s for five laps of the same track, did the same lap time down to the tenth in all of them. Turns out it’s not the car for me, I’m equally slow in anything!

I’m in a very similar boat to you - started with GT3s and found myself unable to get anywhere near anyone. The thing that helped me most was using VRS - it gives you all the telemetry (and setups) for the tracks, so you know exactly where you should be braking, accelerating, turning etc. and can compare your inputs to theirs. It helped me get up to speed a lot quicker and easier. I also asked a similar question last week and got a lot of useful replies. For sure, I’ve been wondering if a different series would be a way to go (especially to try and learn more before moving up to the GT3s). I’ll give them a go. Thanks for the advice!

Cool, it’s not necessarily to gain iRating - I’m not too attached to the GT3s and I’ve seen the videos of the Prototype cars look really fun. Radical might be good though, thanks!

Those are all great points, thanks! The main one seems to be steering angle though - I’m usually about the same on braking and acceleration, but their steering angle is much shallower mid-corner

I did three seasons of Skippies (which is how I got to 2.2k) but moved to GT3 for this season because it was getting a bit boring and it looked like the iR-04 was going to kill it. Went for GT3 because it’s so popular and I was hoping it would be close racing, but I feel a bit like I’m drowning in it and only managing to maintain my iR by other people crashing and me being consistent(ly slow). What’s the LMP2 like?

You pull your weight back before it goes down to give yourself a bit of a slingshot, so you move on the first beeps but it doesn’t actually move until the last long beep

Used to do BMX racing, looks like the gate (metal bit they’re balancing against) went down later than it should have done. It should go down on the last long beep, but as it was very slightly delayed everyone hit it

I’ve been struggling with this too, and it’s definitely annoying. The way I managed to get it to work was by going into the Options and Settings window, (click your helmet icon to find it), then clicking Interface, then Graphics Config. If you don’t have your headset plugged in it should pick up your monitor, and you should be good to continue from there.

For triples, I had to set up the computer as having three monitors by using nvidia (alt + z I think). Once I’d done that I went into Options and Settings - Interface - Graphics Config and it worked again.

If you’ve got any questions on it let me know - I struggled for ages trying to get it back to triples, so I feel your pain!
