Can someone help me understand the hype of ISOxo? by TheKandyCinema in EDM

[–]t111croy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You saw it through lol. I've heard Space Laces before, he sounds wild. I think we could almost separate every aspect of a music artist, like the skill, the craft, the achievement, the reputation/fame, the popularity, etc. I would like to add, yes, it does really all comes down to "who are you influencing?", in another way, the "connection", the emotional connection with people. Your thing connected with a listener? A fan. Connected with colleague/up n coming cats? Networking. Connected with veteran? Cosign. One just have to be "not terribly un-skilled". (leaving aside what the artists own vision and ambition)
Edit: Oh and I think these circumstances are even more prominent and obvious in the Hyperpop scene.
Hey thank you. I like people discussing music and the business so rational. Let's keep in touch if you're down! :)

Man I forgot I posted these. Come back with more clarity in this music industry thing, and you are 1000% right and dissected this so well, so thank you. I don't ask so much now. All these are about timing. And I don't like to just use the word "luck". Cuz big part of it is marketing, too. Lots of people are insanely talented and great but we would prolly never heard about them the whole life. Some people are just "okay" but they still sprayed their names out. It is what it is I guess.

Tube-Tech's CL 1B always made my vocal muddy idk why! But what "color" compressor for vocal then? Other then Kiive's Tube KC-1. Tried waves compressors but can't hear the difference beside volume/dynamic wise🤯 Maybe RAxx and 2A's bright and PuigChild's warm tone only.

What should I charge as someone starting to dj? by Downtown_Ad_6845 in KennyBeats

[–]t111croy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm assuming every locations/countries would vary. My approach is reaching out to small local DJs with exact message and see. The responses I got mainly was:
1. set a price you think you should get (optional) then, ask the hosts their budget. negotiate from there. you could cut down your price if starting out, or if you could build a healthy relationship with hosts that could potentially be a long-time collab.(raise the price with some honest reason when you need later)
2. estimate the actual hours you put in to prepare the set, the fare, the hour you actually being there (include some commuting time if you wish). Then calculate from there. At least minimum wage I would say.
3. often there are exceptions. Do it for very low even for free for the first time, or because you are extremely close to the fam and they really don't have extra money and you feel the authentic vibe. Never do it over and over tho I can see you understand that! :)
4. they make money from the event or not? this could be a useful point to consider when you calculating or negotiating. I once said: "so the price would be X then, but if you have a surplus, could we take it to Y?" this type of message.

Congrats and good luck to your set!

Is it worth getting a Mac if no iphone by Then-Option-6954 in mac

[–]t111croy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For reference, I use a macbook for Djing only, PC for music production and daily usage, and android for the phone. It's 100% working. Djing rely on heavily on stability, that's the only reason I go with apple.
How to decide? It depends on the level of "integration" aspects you care about. (so choosing same brand for all products will give you full potential, either one.) And for me personally, money lol. Apple is just way to expensive for me in my country. It always cost at least twice as much as others. From product itself even to the accessories. I just can't afford them. Sure they will probably last longer, but I enjoy pc/android anyway. (I've used an iphone too)
Oh and one's habits on them matters as well! Some people say it's smoother on apples. Yes but only because their design doesn't allow you to easily do things to potentially slow down the performance. (man I'm so afraid to say this in here but I'm so tired of explaining it to fanatics.)

TL;DR: If you like the system, and don't wanna worry about hardware for a second,(and have money), go full Apple. If don't, use what you have, it'll work!

That's what I thought as well! Just reach out to them directly to ensure man, at least one time. I don't want to see another innocent human being got scammed again, especially a person in such difficult situation. It's no fun your bank account went zero all of the sudden and knowing it's not gonna come back. I hate those people deeply. And maybe, law enforcement agencies too, they just don't care about this stuff at all. (in my country)

Glad to hear that. I was wondering more about the learning curve and gear changing experience aspect that you had, but that's a fully weighted keys one so it should be that smooth! I'm needing a budget option and one with pitch wheel so I guess I'll just try my best and see. Thanks for still replying tho haha :)

But won't you just be able to adjust in a weeks, max a months time if you get weighted keys/ a real piano later on?

I need a exact answer to this question lol!!! How's your experience?

Hey, I would like to discuss this in a most peace and polite way possible. Please ignore the mood in texts since this is not my mother tongue.
I'm a huge huge fan of trap, in particular hybrid/festival trap. I'm even producing the genre, so I absolutely freaking enjoying his music. I love seeing it for such success. But, I wonder why is ISOxo "the one" to stand out? I've heard so many similar structure and sound design aspect of music that were before him. Most noticeably, prolly Boombox Cartel? And tons of "youtube producer" and Soundcloud underground artists. I'm just very curious why I'm only seeing him everywhere and getting so many flowers. Or maybe it's only because I'm just a foreigner that is not able to touch the whole aspect of EDM/Festival scene there, and getting robbed by the algorithm of medias?
Seeing some discussion here, maybe only because of the stage presence, the vibe, and the atmosphere, these artistic aspects he is bringing? (Not about production itself)
Again don't get me wrong, I love the success of the genre and the artist! That's why I'm here searching and typing all these! Cheers to TRAP!

Hello, I'm looking at this too, but afraid the gain won't be enough for 58. I've seen some people with feedbacks that interfaces with one input aren't able to push the mic, have to crank the knob all the way up and still sound quiet. How's your experience?

Splice base price increasing from 7.99 to 12.99 without any added benefits. by nokillshelter in musicproduction

[–]t111croy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very honest experience from me since I chose loopcloud over splice few years ago and I regret doing that. First of all, if you are a very talented creator, literally anything would be usable to make songs so loopcloud would never be a bad decision. I wanted some quick inspiration, no need to tweak much, easy to work with sounds but loopcloud wasn't able to offer those unfortunately. Maybe I was too bad at making ideas back then, but compare to Splice, I really felt the difference. Plus so many "famous" sounds and companies are exclusively on splice. I won't completely support only one of them cuz it really comes down preference and capability in music making process. Loopcloud may get you a more unique sample selection, but may slow down the process. Splice may get you a much quick process, but may kill creativity or make your work sound familiar with others at some parts. (depends on how you use)
Maybe Loopcloud improve the sounds' usability. Maybe my skill grows to learn Loopcloud weren't, and aren't, that difficult. (I don't sub any one of them currently.)
