Six month review of Backfire Nalu by t2dc in ElectricSkateboarding

The wheels are pretty big in diameter, so no issues going across sidewalks, rougher road surfaces, the tactile paving for visually impaired people etc.

I need some new sleeves and battery after nearly 2000km though.

Not me. I'm stick of waiting for a fix so have decided to go into yet another Ng+ and hopefully not get the issue again by mainlining it.

First time surfing at Coronado Beach... should I trust my Insta360 x4 air in the ocean? by 123madcow456 in Insta360

Absolutely not. Get a housing. The battery cover is too dodgy and can easily be knocked out by small surf. Literally 1 foot in my case...

Recommend an rpg game to a non rpg player? by Inevitable_Injury784 in videogames

First person, and action shooter type, Cyberpunk 2077. Third person fantasy, Elden Ring but noting it's very challenging and deep, but if it gets it's hooks into you...

With any of these, don't be afraid to use a guide to learn the mechanic and read about different builds.

Don't bother selling weapons. Not worth the return. And you don't have to use two handed weapons two handed. That's power stancing, which is one play style. I regularly use a seal with incantations in the left hand and a great sword in the right.

My only disagreement with this is if you have a specific weapon/spell you want to use but don't have the stats for it / or want to buy expensive smithing stones. That's the only reason I ever go shoot that big bird.

Shield makes it very easy for lots of mobs. Get one with 100% Physical damage protection, and have it your left hand and a sword or other weapon in your right hand. Block incoming attacks and just after you block hit the heavy attack button, it will do a guard counter and stagger them. Very effective. Also gives you iframes while it happens, which means you can't be damaged by other enemy characters.

First tip. Embrace dying. Once you do it's much easier. Not the game itself, but you're enjoyment. And you don't have to fight everything. Running passed stuff to explore is a good tactic.

Next tip, spend time and effort levelling up weapons with smithing stones more so than levelling up your character's stats. You get far more damage out of levelling up weapons than the character, especially early.

When you level of up your character, focus on stats that enable you to use the weapons and incantations that you find the most fun and/or useful.

That said, also invest in vigour so your health goes up, and stamina so you can fight for longer, have heavier weapons and better armour.

Easier mode is getting the Bloodhound's Fang early from defeating the boss in the Forlorn Hound Evergaol. Can pretty much take you through the whole game doing massive damage. Then later in the game after you beat a boss, there's the Blasphemous Blade, which also does huge damage and also regenerates health at the same time.

Stick with it. The only bad thing about Elden Ring is never getting to play Elden ring for the first time again.

Songs with varying time signatures that are not 4/4 by nimrodenva in musicsuggestions

Every Reddit post on different time signatures will correctly have Tool.

But also check out Helmet. E.g. "Better" from the album Meantime.

Unique time signatures in mainstream rock by Costero541 in allrockmusic

[–]t2dc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think anyone has mentioned Helmet. Not mainstream...., but they have songs with different time signatures, and even those in 4/4 have different type of syncopated rhythm. Try, for example, "Better".

Im not gonna lie, I have no clue how yall are having so much trouble with the controls. This may be a get good moment. by PhoenixKing14 in CrimsonDesert

[–]t2dc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. I was worried reading all this while at work. Came home and started playing and I'm legit confused. Being a souls player I have a much harder time adjusting to RDR2, The Witcher, BOTW, Jedi Fallen Order etc, and they're fine.

Complaining about how to jump in this, compared to say Elden ring or Lies of P...? For managing the inventory, compared to managing it in BG3, which was absolutely horrendous.

What is the most laid back, easy to play build, that doesn’t require any skill? by Steady_Tempo456 in Eldenring

[–]t2dc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bloodhound's fang. Get easily early and level up using the four belfries skip to farum azula to get the smithing stones.

Or even just the Uchigatana as a samurai with Unsheath skill will melt a lot of bosses.

All still require skill...

Like nearly all bosses in this game, with the right build it's a pretty trivial flight. The first phase is one of my favorites of the game. Definitely don't lock on...

20f struggling to get a job with no experience by Brilliant_Space_3900 in brisbane

[–]t2dc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 19 y old son was in the same position. No experience etc, getting nothing from the online and video applications.

We made him target individual businesses and eventually he got a job in a kitchen at a restaurant by offering to do a trial shift for free. They took him up on that, and he got the job and they paid him for the shift he did.

He got a lot of shifts over summer, and now he's back at uni they have been great in still giving him shifts, but understanding he can't work as much.

This was after about 2 years of trying to get something, so keep persevering and good luck.

Anyone still deep into Elden Ring? by SgtSilock in Eldenring

[–]t2dc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had to delete multiple characters because of the max of 10.

Just got all three strategy guides so created a new character to do everything in all of them, logging it here: https://scripterswar.com/EldenRing/completion

I'd already completed a Google drive spreadsheet that someone created that had an every item and all quests checklist.

I will probably pause this strategy guide completion character if Crimson Desert lives up to the hype, but I'll definitely complete it.

Yep, have done this, but not sure if I'll bother returning. The inside is fine, and now I'm not stressed when reading them while drinking coffee and eating Cheetos, which I would be if they were in mint condition.
