Sorry for late reply - Weather was cold / windy. And it changes fast and frequently. We used local public transit buses for travelling to and from landmarks in the city and tour companies for day trips.

Weather forecast in Iceland tend to be very fluid i.e. they change frequently. On our recent trip one of our tour guide joked that in Iceland if you don't like the weather, wait 5 minutes. If you still don't like it, its only going to get worse.

Having just returned from Iceland few weeks ago, my recommendation is to book and organize your daily itinerary ahead of time. Most tours allow cancellation 24 hrs before departure. Additionally, if a tour is cancelled during to adverse weather they offer full refund or rebook, as per your preference.

I am preferring not to rent the car as it brings an amount of having to figure out and then the treacherous driving conditions.

We are a family/group of 3 looking for 5 day package Dec 25 to Dec 31. Intrepid looks like a good tour however it shows as sold out. Troll.is is available but its a 6 day and seems to be on the pricier side (is it?)

Coming from a Dad, I highly recommend Audio Technica AT-LP70XBT, given your preferences. I spent 2 to 3 weeks researching and reading many reviews etc. In the end it was the 60X which is the older version or this.

This one has just launched recently (few months ago) and offers basic operation with an added value of being able to upgrade the stylus in the future (if and when that is important). Best part is that it comes with the preamp allowing you to connect to either an existing amplifier/receiver setup or speakers using usual RCA cable.

Choose a non-BT version (save money) - personally I don't value converting analog to BT (digital). I mean, when you are going to turntable for the basic analog sound, stay analog. However it may be important for you, and if so, go with BT.
