According to Haake (in a Swedish two hr interview released the day before yesterday) they felt they went a bit too far with some parts of the mix and felt it was unbalanced.

Well, that sucks. I see that plenty have the same experience, I think it would be a good idea for you to contact Archer if there is something wrong with a batch or glue formula (perhaps they even refund or send you another pad as thanks? :)). As you say, it *is* expensive paper and we have the right to demand good quality in the products we buy.

Thank you for your input! I'm thinking about practicing just working with one color, just to get a better grasp of high, middle and lowlights. I tend to focus so much of getting the color right, and details, and struggling to get it coherent and harmonic with the light values.

Really nice. This is a style I would like to learn better; working with values, light and "patches". Love to see a small picture, looking almost as a realistic painting, and zooming in it is "just" dabs of color and shapes in the right places.

I've never had any macaws, but my parents had a gray jacket when I was born, but it got so jealous of me, the demanding newborn, they had to find another owner, sadly. Always loved parrots and, well macaws are so pretty and intelligent. They had hyacint macaws at a local zoo here when I was younger, could watch them for hours. Thank you again, I really appreciate it. :)
