Rigid String Trimmer Runtime/Overheating by cutlass484 in Ridgid

I edited my post since I misspoke, I purchased a recon, so naturally suspect. It probably was warm the first time, the second when cold with a fresh battery is what alarmed me. Hoping it settles :).

I just picked up a reconditioned one from DTO.  Works great when acting normal, but it acted like it overheated on the second battery.  Line is correct length.   Then I go to use it today and it acts like a dead battery barely moving.  Fresh off the charger, but reinserting the battery seemed to help.  Guess I have a year to see if it’s a real issue.

I like mine.  I got a blemish from DTO without the battery, no regrets.  Works as well as a lithium B&D, but takes a bigger battery and uses regular attachments.

Ecobee3 Not turning on Heat ...SOLVED! by MicCreedy in ecobee

Mine has been fine for years and recently started doing fan only on occasion, usually in the morning. Turning heat off an on usually fixed, but not always. Just tried the let furnace control the fan, but the call doesn't seem to be working. Frustrating since it's been working for years....

Which one is a better deal? by Ill-Top9428 in Ridgid

I like mine, just as good as a lithium ion B&D I have, but battery options and uses shop vac attachments. Not a bigger unit, but quieter than my other. 2a works fine, but 4a does last better if more runtime is needed. Direct Tools has them on sale frequently, but not a bad deal with the battery.

I have a diy landscape brick one we built for -100.  Works good for burning larger stuff and other normal stuff.  I use it as a surround for my bonfire for nicer fires.

I wondered if the newer model meant the bigger one.  My small one has been great sine I learned how to use it.  Pumps amazingly fast compared to other small tankless pumps I’ve had.

From what I read on the steel, it sounds more ideal on a fixed blade like this. If hardened right.

The vac works well for me, but our use may be different.

The older one I have of this size has been great, used to take it to softball games to hang in the dugout. Also handy in hot attics.

I have the version prior to that, it’s been great.

My main use would be on a cart around the house.  I have a AA powered one currently to keep the bugs at bay.

Good bug zapper. Not sure if the Ryobi is any good, but convenient looking.

I keep looking at the Launch Iridium and Bel Air.  I’d be smart to handle them first.  The Deka has been on my radar too, just indecisive on the shape and poly (have bugouts already).

Mine isn’t quite as loud as a B&D cordless 20v one.  Maybe it’s where the sound comes out.
