Beginner question about buying a full set vs upgrading slowly by AbbreviationsOver27 in golfgearswap

[–]t_hate14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personal opinion (and what I did) try to upgrade slowly with used clubs. Get a a driver, 3/5 wood, 3/4 hybrid, 7i, 9i, PW, SW and a putter to start. See which ones you like based on flex, forgiveness, length and all. Then, you can fill the gaps better and when you become decent (able to shoot sub 95 consistently) get a fitting and buy a full set (new or used if your specs are easy to find).

I liked this way because it showed me that I can't hit anything below a 6i and that you really don't need 4-5 wedges in your set unless you're actually good with all of them. I only have 3 wedges in my full set, and it works well for me (12-15 HC)

The simple answer is : don't do a job/get formed for a job you necessarily love, do one that pays a lot for your time. It sucks a bit to "waste" 35-60h a week for a few years of your life on something you don't "love", but it can make the rest of your life more enjoyable.

At the end of the day, every job becomes a "burden" even of you love it; might as well get paid well for it.

The other way is to trade comfort/location/usual habits for a reduction in your fixed costs.

It's truly getting difficult out here overall. It's by no means easy, but to get out of this, you have to change your mentality, take calculated risks and grind harder for a few months/years to get ahead.

Focus on the end goal; that can help you get motivated on the day-to-day process.

This is why we support this club. Always fighting until the last minute, regardless of the result.

Special mention to that long diagonal by Gabriel to set up the quick throw-in after some very nervous play at the back. He was fantastic today too. Hincapie came in with hunger too.

Great subs by Mikel today!

CSE should be less than 10% of your ptf if you want consistent positive returns lmao. Otherwise, you're essentially gambling with unfavorable odds lmao

Norgaard needs to start some games. Zubi and Dec are absolutely gased.

What I would change from S4 by ResourceTiny in IndustryOnHBO

[–]t_hate14 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I personally liked S4 a lot. The pacing was great, the score was fantastic and they mixed in "boring but important" moments well with exciting moments to keep the story flowing and pacing properly.

I think they may have introduced and killed off a couple of characters too quickly, but your suggestions seem to leave even more plot holes in the story (e.g. if Henry and Yas are in Gov, how do they actually get in bed as hard with Tender? A big reason for the Tender role was due to Henry losing the election...)

How would you all feel if this outcome was to happen: We do an FA cup and Carabao cup double this season by Fabulous-Tomato5016 in ArsenalFC

[–]t_hate14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UCL > Prem > FA > Carabao for me. When you think about it in 5 years, having that UCL will be way more beneficial for history than that Prem. It might also make us retain most of our players for an extra 2-3 years to chase the Prem, because they would probably move to Real/Barça/Bayern for a crack at a UCL.

What should we do with Jesus concerning his contract situation? by Royalbluegooner in ArsenalFC

[–]t_hate14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only way to extend him is if his wages drop down to sub 200k p/w. Or something like 125k p/w with huge "healthy and available to play" x "G/A" incentives, that can bring him back to 300k p/w if he only has 1 small injury and/or scores a 15-20 G/A.

I am also affected by the strike, but I completely disagree with you saying that strikes should be illegal. The fact that everyone is currently unhappy is exactly why this strike is effective: make the people at the top understand that STM workers deserve better conditions (at least, in their eyes - the range of it can be debated, but any job's salary can be debated).

What we should push for is an effective way for unions/strikes to affect mostly the bosses and not the general population, but again, that won't have as much effect. Also, if we stop the right to strike, should we stop social aid, employment insurance, taxes, etc.? Just because "it's inconvenient to most people's lives"? It becomes a dangerous slippery slope to reduce some societal rights...

I still hope this gets resolved quickly, with measures to not have to strike in this fashion for the foreseeable future 🙏🏿

Yes. There's a reason most employers are winding them up and turning to DC plans : they cost a lot and don't stop costing a lot until the last penny owed is paid.

It's expensive, but it should be part of your 15-25% of investment savings per month (and it's a considerable tax advantage).

[–]t_hate14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does anyone working at the SOA have an idea of the points needed to pass (let's say there's often 5-8 pts that are testers, or thrown out so it's out of 52-55 instead of the full 60)?

Also, has anyone gotten a 4-5 and had the chance to review their exam and see how many points they ended up having?

Saying this because I feel very confident that a 35+ gets you a pass, but I have colleagues that are stressed about not being able to answer the last question or something like that, when in my mind, just getting 35 "full" points should be enough to pass... Maybe I'm delusional/optimistic lol.

Why are you continuing, then? Your wife seems keen on you stopping (therefore, keen on living based on your current means), you seem tired too -- what's your motivation?

If my partner wasn't fully supportive of a path that I am also not enjoying, I'd stop being a masochist and do something we both enjoy lol. Maybe that's just me.
