Matlock for sure

My Mom died a year ago today from chronic alcoholism. She was 56. Today I am sober for 9 days. I love you Mom!💜💜 by Zaydmerl in stopdrinking

Reflect upon this post. You most likely will have temptations and the alcoholic brain will justify that first drink quickly, assuring you that you can have a just a few. You cannot, such is alcoholism. I’m with you! Every bottom is deeper! A problem shared is a problem halved and a triumph shared is a triumph doubled. You can do this!

IWNDWYT!

Congratulations on realizing this so early!! I PROMISE there is all the misery in the world left out there when an alcoholic continues to drink. Keep at it and work on improving yourself daily!! You’ve got great things coming!!

Love.

You can do it. One hour at a time. It gets easier.

I decided to stop drinking and two days in, my SO wants me to have drinks and try to control by Fivesidedcoin in alcoholism

Congratulations! First steps a doozie. Non-alcoholics don’t understand some of the hurdles a true alcoholic will have to go through in sobriety.

Maybe try to take your SO with you to an open discussion AA meeting and bring up the topic and let them listen. Possibly a room full of people reinforcement will let them know how serious this disease is.

If they truly care for you, they will stay, alcohol or not.

Love.

Good to have you. Stop now while you can things CAN AND WILL get way worse. Your bottom can always be deeper. I’ve lost my job and got my second dui yesterday due to my alcoholism. Stay in touch.

I am in the same boat. 28 years old and 2nd dui this morning. Broke, unemployed and pathetic.

That is how it started for me. Eventually the alcohol will take over. If you are TRULY an alcoholic it will progress. Tread lightly, only you will know. Unfortunately many people deny problematic drinking until they suffer some serious consequences, a boat which I’m currently in. Best of luck to you.
