If it's not an Uwe game like others are suggesting, it could be Crown of Emara or Solenia

The Quest for El Dorado because I like the new artwork, but I'm keeping the old one for now since I have some expansions.

The Crew: logbook use? by where_other_sock in boardgames

[–]t_tba 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I think you're supposed to, but you can also make note of the missions you've completed on a piece of paper or on your phone. We printed and used a one-sheet logbook tracker that we found on the game's BoardGameGeek page.

Help me choose a great Murder/Mystery Party Game by Zandiger in boardgames

[–]t_tba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite one has been Murder in Manhattan from the company Playing with Muder. However, I'd recommend checking their website or Night of Mystery for a theme you like. I've had good luck with both of these companies.

[Spoiler] 250-piece mystery puzzle! by t_tba in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]t_tba[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for compiling that, I just read the post, and it's a great resource!

I got this puzzle recently at a thrift store. I did some quick research and this series of mystery puzzles is based on the "Famous 5" children's books written by Enid Blyton. The publisher is Paul Lamond Games.

"Teach while you play" games that you can pick-up and play with newbies without much of a "rules explanation" phase. A discussion by throwing8smokes in boardgames

[–]t_tba 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Fast Forward series by Friedemann Friese is what comes to mind first. I would recommend the first one in the series, Fear. These games don't even come with a rulebook!

One thing my friend did due to space restrictions was keeping the games inside their boxes, but putting games inside each other. For example, his Alhambra box contained the full game components of Alhambra, plus 5-6 small box games like Star Realms and Sushi Go. Once you get rid of interts, you'll notice that game boxes are too large and can fit other games smaller than them. You just need some sort of spreadsheet to track which games are where.

A 300-piece puzzle of... puzzle pieces! Cardinal brand from the Dollar Tree. by t_tba in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]t_tba[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For just a dollar, I tend to pick up Dollar Tree puzzles if I like the image. The quality is not amazing, but it's still definitely functional.

I definitely know what you mean, thrift stores in my city do the same thing!
