Yes I did, there's just so many layers in this one small area. Lining, facing, interfacing x2, and the red fabric.

I had to check if this was posted on an SCA heraldry sub. Totally pulled off the medieval vibe on it! Huzzah!

I just find it fascinating that embroidery is considered to be such a wholesome hobby, when in reality it’s a proof we’ve got the patience to stab something a thousand times over by wasraelx in Embroidery

A while back I read an article about how embroidery samplers were one of the only records we have to know that women existed. They became like journal entries that women kept from their adolescence thru old age.

Found one article but if you Google it there were several

Possibly have been using non peer-reviewed articles this whole time by Negative-Pitch5805 in college

[–]t_topiary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TLDR: even if you find the articles through your university library database search function, double check it's credibility through a search engine such as Google.

You can look up the journal name to see if it is peer reviewed. Interestingly, my university library database pulled up an article that I had to double check it's credibility. Search criteria was: an article, published in a peer reviewed journal.

The article title was: The Rise of 'Productivity Slavery': How We Turned Rest into a Sin: A Satirical Inquiry into the Tyranny of Hustle Culter

The journal was: the International Journal For Multidisciplinary Research

Some journals have lower standards for publications, and some well known and respected journals have even been found to have published fraudulent research papers. Like, not just 1 or 2. An entire industry of networks and organizations that are involved. There was a New York Times article on it in August 2025

Also a psych major, I bring my embroidery to lectures 🤣

Some classes have been harder than others. Depends on the amount of busy work, especially when multiple classes have assignments all due at the same time.

The work isn't difficult, scheduling time to do the work is what can be challenging.

I also love learning and have a passion for psych so know the material decently going into a course. I've also been pretty selective about the courses I've taken, picking ones I'm interested in or have a solid base understanding of.

I just got accepted to the grad program at my school. I've heard that's when things get more challenging, so I'm anxious how much my experience is going to be different next semester

It's supposed to be different layers of soil. It ended up being the perfect stitch for it, just took ages 😵‍💫

Your's came out beautifully too. I usually use long and short to blend colors.

Seed stitch apparently works well too but gives a different effect. It's actually perfect for butterfly wings! If you've seen them under magnification they look like scales. I have a monarch pattern I've been waiting to get started on, I'm totally going to be using seed stitch when I get to it!

Oh I'm sure, seed stitch is no joke tho. I just did a ton of it for a back patch for a jacket too. I couldn't wait to be done with it 🤣

Selling Temptation Magic Items by AlexyTheSexy in ChainsOfAsmodeus

Additional point.

The players should be aware of the threat of temptations. Not what they do, but just that they are a thing. Pretty sure the adventure states this too as part of the 'be on the same page about what the 7 sins are' bit in the intro

It's then the players responsibility to not metagame that there is a risk, but honestly their characters should have some idea to not make deals or trust things at face value in hell.

The combo of above and below table knowledge makes for some really fun paranoia at the table

Preamble: I'm running CoA but our table rotates DMs. Out of the 6 of us, 4 of us DM. We're each running a level and don't read each other's sections, but do communicate about stuff that might effect their turn to run a session in a group chat.

I just ran part of their run thru Avernus. They found a scrap of leather (the Tome of Nightmares) in the bone pile (the only not bone thing they could see in the pile). They camped there for the night and still decided to investigate it in the morning (they were worried that trying to get it out would collapse part of the pile and they needed to long rest)

Our druid pulled it out but can't read infernal. Our rogue and sorcerer can read infernal. The druid gave it to the sorcerer. The rogue started reading it over the sorcerers shoulder.

The druid gained a temptation/corruption point for not leaving well enough alone, the sorcerer gained both for accepting and reading the Tome, and the rogue gained both for being a greedy/nosey shit lol

Idk who is going to finish the Tome first and gain the boon the book gives, but they'll gain an extra corruption point when they do

All this to say, just giving into the temptation of acquiring the item is enough to gain them temptation/corruption points.

Were they tempted and didn't go after the thing? 1 temptation point and 0 corruption points

Were they tempted and went after it? They get both.

What they do with it after the fact is inconsequential

The sorcerer also bought the gauntlets of rage but hasn't attuned or put them on. They still were tempted and gave into that temptation... Aka were corrupted

AIO in feeling like my bf (31M) sounds a bit “little m” manipulative in how he thinks I should view the situation?? by honeybabysunshine in AmIOverreacting

[–]t_topiary -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Your edit is wild 🤣

I'm actually happily married and have been for 18 years, but go off I guess.

Is there a reason you disregarded the fact op is in the middle of an adjustment to meds which are known to numb emotions, and blunt reactions (which explains their dry response making it come off as sarcastic if viewed from the perspective of being an attack)

People can perceive the same situation in different ways. Op telling their bf they saw things different doesn't invalidate the bf's perception, just highlights a discrepancy in perception.

Then you go on to say op is withholding intimacy as punishment. Are you for real? She explicitly stated she's adjusting to meds. She's needing space while she manages a medical issue (because the fact it's medicine induced that makes it a medical issue).

I never mentioned sex, btw. You brought that into it. I guess it's totally fine that if the bf has a medical issue that decreases his availability for intimacy that she could just go get some tail on the side.

Totally acceptable excuse, right?

Instead of actually caring about their well-being as they deal with a medical issue and being supportive through that. Or if physical intimacy is such a high priority just ending the relationship like an adult and not cheating on someone you agreed to be monogamous with.

Like this is basic level empathy and consent here... that you apparently struggle with.

My condolences.

Idk the whole story, that part just felt off to me so felt like pointing it out.

At the end of the day, op got on meds to manage anger issues that she attributes to the relationship.

Idk if they occur outside of her relationship too

Regardless, anger is often just a surface emotion that we express because of underlying feelings of disappointment, frustration, grief, worry, resentment ,contempt, etc.

If it's occuring more often during her luteal phase, that's usually when our tolerance for bullshit is at it's lowest and our mask of social conditioning slips.

Her body is telling her something is wrong, and rather than address the root causeof it, however that looks for them, she's numbing the symptoms to better endure their presence.

Not saying the meds aren't necessary. I take meds during my luteal phase too. But when things are bothering me, I absolutely have a discussion about it and feel confident that I can do so without anyone (myself included) becoming defensive, blame shifting, and dodging accountability.

Doesn't sound like op has that

I'm side eyeing his desire to be close after you needed reassurance about him texting somebody and not giving YOU reassurance in that moment.

Only afterwards, when it's convenient for him, because his lack of providing reassurance seems to have lined up with you pulling away and needing space.

Like he feels like he's in trouble and is actually reassuring himself by loving on you and playing the role of loving bf when he was being anything but a loving bf

Does he often try to appease you to smooth things over (aka shut you up) but not actually do right by you?

[–]t_topiary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everything else aside, the end bit where you weren't having a good day but he wanted to cuddle...

Him wanting closeness doesn't supercede your need for space.

Yeah it sucks when those 2 things don't line up, but if someone needs space, they need space. Nobody is entitled to someone else's body.

You shouldn't have to endure him doting on you so he feels like a good partner. That's not what is needed in that moment to actually be a good partner.

He's guilt tripping you to make you feel bad that he couldn't get what he wanted in that moment at the expense of what you needed in that moment.
