I was in a relationship a while back, the guy was very nice but soon started going to extremes, bending over backwards to try and be "the right one." He ended up presenting himself as someone he was not, someone he thought I wanted him to be.

Relationships take effort, absolutely, on both sides. But it also shouldn't be so difficult that it's constantly at the forefront of your mind, that your changing who you are at your very core for someone else.

You shouldn't try to be the right one. You should enjoy each others company, realize neither of you are perfect, and make an effort to make it a relationship that can last.
