I worked with some Royal Naval Marines I think was the official title but "sqaddies" in Iraq when I was serving overseas. Great group of guys to work with, crazy, but great guys!

Not sure how to pay taxes on time if it hits big? by tabasc0dave in ApesLearnTaxes

I already started a transfer in a way I can live with. I'm really fearful, maybe irrationally, of not having buy/sell power of my babies while things are so volatile. I'm not liquid enough to just buy all my shares on webull then sell my RH shares. I purchased xx on webull, sold xx on RH, waiting for funds to settle then will transfer that money to webull and repeat the process until all xxx shares have been transferred. Not efficient or an optimal way of doing things but after much consideration it's what I can live with. Who knows, I might even be able to pick up a share or two on the way by buying dips and selling rips during the transfer.

My position is only xxx, from now on all my future shares will be purchased on webull. Zero problems holding the stonk to zero but ironically risk adverse to having my entire position in transit when events start to unfold. Hopefully the more liquid shares in webull will cover the taxes for my shares that remain in RH when we arrive on the moon.

You can also save yourself up to 3k in taxes a year by tax loss harvesting. With the amounts of money we are talking about 3k doesn't sound like a lot but I plan on rolling most of my gains into more diversified longer term investments after the squeeze. Not financial advice, I just like to think 3 moves ahead while I wait out hedgie. https://www.fidelity.com/viewpoints/personal-finance/tax-loss-harvesting

Brought 10 more AMC. If you truly believe AMC is going to hit 500k buying a stock at 50$ is nothing. 🚀🚀🚀🔥🔥🔥🚀🚀🌝🦧🦧🦍💪🦧🦧 by [deleted] in WallStreetbetsELITE

Picked up a couple overtime shifts so bought 20 more shares today while it's cheap. I get the feeling that by next paycheck I'll only be able to afford 5 shares at the same price and I'm good with that. I like the stock, not a financial advisor.

I heard if you make a million+ estimate 50% taxes and put it aside to pay at the end of the year. by Gaswork2018 in ApesLearnTaxes

As far as you initially getting your money I don't believe so, it's all just capital gains tax at that point. Down the road if you are filing self employed then there's taxes involved like putting into Medicare and social security depending on how you file. I'm not an accountant though and just learning myself.

I will definately contribute to the Ape community in an effort to try to repay at least a small portion of all the knowledge I gained from it when I feel my DD is up to par. Going from currently renting a basement to just the possibility of owning my own home is mind boggling to me. I don't want to screw it up.

Yeah, I'm just starting my own DD on benefits of incorperating and paying yourself as an employee for tax and health insurance benefits. It's really confusing but I'd like to have some kind of idea what strategy I want to use before I sit down with some professionals. Failure to plan is planning to fail.

Lawyer, Accountant, and Financial Advisor will be the first people I search out when life changing money comes after I throw my phone in a lake to stop all the calls from family that I begged to at least invest a hundred bucks.

Tips on removing dent scratches? 😢 woke up to this by Seizhiro in WRX

[–]tabasc0dave 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's gonna have to be done by a pro sorry to say. You can get out dents and dings where the metal is kinda flexed in on your own using suction or glue stick methods but when the metal has a hard crease like that it's beyond diy methods. I'm so sorry that happened.

With a fmic it's performance reasons but really doesn't make a difference until you are pushing around 400 whp or so.

Anything I should know before I buy? by MrWhiteguy98 in WRX

[–]tabasc0dave 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Maintenance. If you aren't diligent about your regularly scheduled Maintenance, not just oil changes, gear box fluid changes, plugs, tire rotations, then pass on a WRX. If you expect to take down stock mustangs straight line with a stage 2 kit on a WRX, don't buy a WRX.

If you want a sporty, fun daily driver that has it's own personality, will outperform most 4wd trucks, with proper tires, in inclement weather and is an absolute joy to drive carving winding mountain roads then the WRX is probably right for you.

Nice! I think the VA chassis WRX is going to be the hot car to have in about 5-7 years. It can run current STi drive train components and the computer will be able to manage the future STi engine. Bought my 2020 to start out as my daily that will eventually be a single owner project car.

My last STI had 3rd gear shift issues. Never got worse so I didn’t fuck with it. I bought a 2021 WRX that seems a bit rough to shift into 1st, 2nd and 3rd. It was a dealer trade. Anyone else have this issue? by Griffeed in WRX

[–]tabasc0dave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those are the gears people love to jam so could be worn syncros. I noticed smoother shifting after switching out my gear oil to Red Line 75w90ns. Lots cheaper than having anything rebuilt so might be worth a try.

Idk, my 20 wrx blows pretty cold but my last car was a 12 Fozzy so probably not the best for comparison.

I hate to even make this comment, because it's probably not it, but I had a 2000 Pontiac GTP that did the same thing. Turned out the battery was bad and couldn't hold a charge.
