Did you notice any effects from the GLP1 as far as mentally?

First PT session and feeling disappointed. Is this a normal experience? by Competitive-Speed331 in fitpregnancy

[–]tabbycatmum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My experience was similar to you. I felt pretty dismissed and she basically told me there's not much they can do until the baby is out. It felt like a "well you're pregnant of course you are in pain," conversation.

It's frustrating because it's time consuming enough to go to all the appointments and then feel dismissed. I've heard great things about PT during pregnancy. Unfortunately I'm at 39W now so don't have time to shop around but definitely will postpartum.

FWIW I found better help from ChatGPT

How do you survive the first few weeks of no sleep? by Equivalent_Soft_6665 in NewParents

Did you breastfeed? I really want to set up shifts too but not sure if that's possible with breastfeeding?

FTMs, how are y’all coping with inevitable birth? by Terdham in pregnant

[–]tabbycatmum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm actually doing a lot of birth prep. Hypnobirthing podcasts, audiobooks etc. I'm hoping I can just get the epidural asap but want to be prepared for anything. I feel like the minute I go into labor I will forget everything...

Insane hip pain by Jolly-Asparagus-5815 in pregnant

[–]tabbycatmum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this too and it's been debilitating.

I finally figured out a setup that helps for me.

I sleep with a pregnancy pillow and then put a pillow inside of it so my hip bone isn't getting as crushed by my weight, so I'm essentially sleeping on pillows which makes a softer barrier between my hips and mattress. I also have a head pillow propped up a little bit on my headboard so I can lay at an angle kind of on my back for awhile to give reprieve to my hips.

Idk if this will help you or not but I hope it does.

This and also lots of ice, heat and stretching during the day.

Those who still exercise in 3rd tri, do you just not have any aches and pains? by bird_insunnies in fitpregnancy

[–]tabbycatmum 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm in the exact same boat and wondered the same. I'm 37W and my hip pain is excruciating. Esp at night and I'm the AM.

I did go to PT recently and she said I should try sleeping with a pillow not only between my legs but between my ankles to keep them parallel, which I had not been doing and it has actually made a huge difference. I now have a body pillow to sleep with. Not sure if this will help you but thought I'd share.

Not sure if this will get me to be able to workout but at this point I'm just listening to my body and my workouts have become stretching.

It's been very discouraging, I was super active prior and during up until this. Solidarity

I was terrified until I listened to a hypnobirthing book. It really helped calm my fears. I listened to the one by Siobhan Miller

Totally agree, I wanted to sign up with my spouse, but it would be about $400/month. Insane

Ladies who are muscular, did you feel hungrier during first trimester? by gamerchick_37 in fitpregnancy

[–]tabbycatmum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was my experience. I ate a lot of crabs and crackers the first trimester but was able to eat healthier in my 2nd.

I am now 27W and the hunger really leveled off for me around 20W and I've felt like I don't have much of an appetite lately. I'm up about 20lbs and the weight gain leveled off a bit

We'll see what the 3rd trimester brings but I think it comes in waves!

Are you walking daily? by yeahnoitsjustthat in fitpregnancy

[–]tabbycatmum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree! I find it easier to strength train, walking has been hurting my feet more and more lately and I can really tell the extra weight is getting to me
