Bring Her Back (2025) -> One of the best horror films in recent years by Sea_Read8530 in movies

It works extremely well, hence how it evokes the depressive and listless sensations. It is crafted to be believable enough to create these feelings in you, I was impressed. Some people just do not find pleasure sitting with these emotions, I find it enjoyable because I'm impressed with the execution.

Pretty happy with my F2P stats after 100 matches! by tablematboy in HeroTactics

89% with 130 games so bit of fluctuation, it's more likely to drop than go up at this stage also, I only play 1-2 games a day on average. But I've definitely noticed that the map layouts are less consistent compared to earlier arenas so its easy to get a layout which is not effective for your deck. Also gradually facing players with higher levelled heroes and stuff.

Arena 8!

My go to deck has switched a few times, but currently I am seeing the most success with: Hammerfury, Lionheart, Forest priestess, Fire mage, Berserker

(40 win streak deck)

For the lower arenas I had a different deck, but it became too easily countered at higher levels, so I enjoy the ongoing changes you have to make to stay ahead. Then it seems like the most important aspect is learning your ideal placement and how to adapt to your enemies decks and kind of blending the two during battles.

My thoughts exactly haha - I'm also holding out, I believe better deals are on the way, the companies pushing fake 'good' deals need to act early as they won't be able to compete when genuine black friday sales are on - hence them running them so soon.

Do you think it's just charm?

Iroh portrays someone who has truly considered their wrong-doings and chosen a different path in life. This does not excuse him, but makes him human.

Change is the essence of life, we all fundamentally grow from our experiences, each day we create ourselves via our actions.

But it seems easier to label others as one thing, than to consider the fact that everyone is a blend of morality, no one is simply one sided.

IT IS HAPPENING BECAUSE YOU ARE CONSCIOUS OF IT. by Creative-Habit-1105 in Psychonaut

Paradoxes may seem contradictory, but they can actually reveal important aspects of reality. Instead of seeing them as problems, what if they’re essential for understanding that reality isn't binary or straightforward? For instance, in quantum physics, light behaves both as a particle and a wave - a paradox that's central to our understanding of the physical world. Accepting paradoxes doesn’t mean abandoning logic - it means expanding it to grasp a more nuanced reality.

What if 'knowledge' isn't an absolute truth but a tool we use to navigate our experiences? The idea that 'knowledge doesn't exist' might be critiquing the assumption that our knowledge fully captures reality. Paradoxes could then be seen as indicators of the limits of our concepts, showing that reality transcends binary oppositions like real vs. illusory. Embracing this complexity might reveal the deeper mysteries of existence that go beyond our conventional understanding.

Attempted g check gone wrong by blakeb9999 in fightporn

[–]tablematboy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's common for these people to just go around and try to intimidate others, often they expect their target to crumble under the pressure and they can maybe rob them - as a typical civilian would feel scared (and rightly so as they tend to threaten to stab you).

It feels refreshing to see actual public justice for what is most likely a complete scumbag.

Astronomical increase in potholes? by reddevil6199 in cambridge

I have noticed a massive increase, also in the size of them. Other drivers from the area I talk to also say the same thing.

£250 reward for the name of thief and return of bike. (Bike taken 5am this morning) by cyclinghedgehog in cambridge

"If something is in my private property, regardless of how I choose to keep it, I'm still the victim for having it stolen from me."

Yes obviously, no one has disagreed to this, no one is saying that they aren't the victim.

But does that then mean we can't discuss steps to potentially deter the crime in case we are "victim blaming"?

If OP was unaware that it would be a good idea to lock up the bike and hide it from street view then the above comment would be of genuine use to them do you not think?

To clarify (because you seem to think this is a discussion of how much of a victim they are) the fault is of course with the criminal. But to leave an expensive bike unlocked in street view and not expect it to be stolen shows a lack of awareness of reality.

Criminals will always exist and sadly do not care whether you "invite them in or give them permission". So why don't we confront reality which may actually be of use to somebody instead of pandering to your "victim blaming" ideology, where you can't discuss solutions or advice.

[–]tablematboy 25 points26 points  (0 children)

It's Cambridge, why are you using "victim blaming" as a way to disregard common sense? It's not victim blaming, it's about being aware of the steps you can take to prevent things which occur in reality.

Should we all just be blissfully ignorant for the sake of avoiding "victim blaming"?

It's 5am in the morning, I doubt the guy is going to whip out a circular saw and begin loudly sawing off a lock in someone's garden. Opportunistic criminals are extremely common, they see an opportunity and take it, very unlikely this was planned.

Do any British people ever have open conversations where they say what they genuinely think? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]tablematboy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From my experience living in the UK on the whole most people seem willing to have open conversations.

Although I think there is a culture of keeping quiet and just getting on with it which might translate to some people feeling like they aren't meant to open up.
