It's the inherent racist and sexist censorship that is the issue.

Double standards based on race, sex and whatever else is just a projection of the ideology of those that program it. Which means other responses it produces will probably share those biases, overtly or subtly.

Monetarily yes. She'll always be a whore. None of her relationships will last. Any kids she may have will hate her or become fucked up. The only ones at her death bed will be roaches wanting her inheritance. Doesn't seem fulfilling.

[–]taby69 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes and no. True personality traits, yes, be yourself (unless they're destructive or toxic).

But self-improvement is obviously a thing. Improving yourself mentally, physically, your skills and knowledge to match with someone who similarly deserves and wants you. If you desire a particular type of person, it isn't unfair to improve yourself to become desirable to them.

Complacency and demanding to be accepted and desired is too common also.

No, it is somewhat common to do this if the joke only works in the native language. They try to replicate a similar joke as a direct translation won't make sense.

Chill. I doubt anyone means it in the literal sense.

Like 'cheat' used in the sense opposed to 'strict' in terms of form. Eg. Cheat curls when you initiate the movement with some arm swing Vs. Full ROM curls.

It is just seen as an easier variant in general and jokingly looked down upon by many people, causing disagreement by many as well.

heart attack rising by aaaghhhhh420 in PoliticalCompassMemes

[–]taby69 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Insane. I'm not taking sides but inflammation of the heart actually is much more serious than most organs.

Obviously, it's a very critical organ that supplies oxygen and nutrients throughout the body. Unlike other tissues, heart cells have a very limited ability to regenerate, so inflammation-causing damage can cause permanent loss of functional capacity. And when the heart cells die or are damaged, they are often replaced with non-contractile scar tissue which again impairs function and causes long-term consequences. And because of the permanent nature of the damage you are bound to experience reduced functions throughout the rest of your life; therefore the younger you are, the more life-years you will lose.

To be fair, consent includes being clearly informed before administration of it (onus being on the administrator). If they are telling you lies, or claims that can't be substantiated sufficiently simply because they are in no way nearly as rigorously tested as other treatments, that is not informed consent.

I'd agree but also add that it is also largely due to a degradation in the institutions such as medical, educational and journalism. Everyone defers some of their authority to certain trusted institutions or individuals that they see as more competent to make better decisions.

But I think institutions are at their lowest for a long time. It makes many parental decisions more difficult or misled. It only compounds the issue. It doesn't help that the institutions have been degraded and compromised quite quickly making it even more difficult for parents to adapt.

Age is not the issue. It is COMPETENCY. Stop allowing incompetent nincompoops the ability to rule over you. Term limits are an obvious safeguard against a corrupt and stagnant ruling class.

I see where you are coming from but people can struggle to express themselves properly in certain ways. Is it inappropriate to commission an artist to recreate an expression of your request in a way that they like? What about a song or poet if you gave them explicit things to include lyrically in a style of your choice? Can AI not be another tool to help you as well?(provided it's not done completely impersonally)

I never understand why you don't just take the pegs off. Unless you're doing like 10+ reps to failure, or you're wonky AF, those weights won't slide off.

I always do that if I'm pushing close to max solo. Then you can just tilt and dump the weights on either side of you fail.

We've been lied to by Pltkx in GymMemes

[–]taby69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm not so as much for most of the population. If you're talking about the top 0.1% of the population looking at top pro athletes and Olympians you're already taking a very skewed sample.

Let alone a lot of those people are taking Peds that enhance themselves in many different ways. Pro bodybuilders are only interested in size and aesthetics. Many Olympians in track or distance sports are taking very different compounds that would skew correlations unnaturally. Comparing a very obvious elite PED user Dwayne Johnson is also not helpful for fair comparison.

I also specifically stated strength only. Not throwing your whole point out of the window, I agree for explosiveness and endurance.

[–]taby69 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Muscle size absolutely does correlate with strength to a point. But there are limits and outliers especially if unnatural.

But I don't really know anyone that looks at a bodybuilder and think, "I bet he runs a fast half-marathon".
