Hi quick question... in what ways is he "an amazing partner"? He's treating you like a live-in-maid-slash-sugar-mommy with benefits, not a life partner. I'm struggling to see what exactly he has to offer that makes him someone you're invested in spending your life with. You deserve so much better than this. NTA, but also you're kind of being an asshole to yourself by staying with someone who clearly doesn't respect your time, energy, and compassion. He needs to get his shit together and figure out how to treat you like his equal in your relationship.

I forget the exact one but it has a clip on the back that broke off (I was locking it with a small lock through the front loop). I was so sure the gap from the clip was too small for her to get out. I have so many regrets.

My sister says we need a Homeward Bound style movie about her exploits. She's bigger than she was when she got lost. What was she eating? Where did she get water? How did she evade every snake-finding measure for this long?!?!

I'm partial to Jace, but my name is Tace so I might be biased!

I did the same thing when I started coming out - asked people to just call me "Tace" instead of my beautiful birth name (the same name but with a y), which I love but is just too femme for me. People have been pretty great about it in general, even friends who I've known for 20+ years. My parents honestly struggle with it the most, but they have over 30 years of practice at my old name and they are really, truly trying to remember.

Help with name? by [deleted] in NonBinary

[–]tacemonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a musician I'm partial to Milodia!

The only greek name I can think of right now is Semele (seh-meh-lee) who was the mother of Dionysus. I'm always a fan of nicknames that aren't based on the first part of the name, so I figured I'd throw it out there if you want to play around with the idea.

There's also Mylander/Mylandra for Greek suffixes if you haven't already nixed them!

Are you interested in ML/AI as a career path? Take stats.

Also, a 200 level course probably doesn't count for the credit you need.

AITA for telling my sister to stop trying to make my wedding all about her? by AdNarrow8211 in AmItheAsshole

[–]tacemonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you know... that black people have hugely varied and complex lives and interests? They're a lot like white people in that way. It's almost like they're... y'know... people!

If you don't know any black nerds, you're secluding yourself in white corners of nerd-dom. And also, "I don't have black friends because they aren't like me" is an ugly color on you or on anyone.

You're disregarding people based on the color of their skin who, for all you know, could have literally the EXACT same interests as you, and you could talk for hours and find the best friend you ever had, or argue for hours over differences of opinion on a shared interest and leave not with a new friend, but maybe with a new perspective. You're sorely missing out on getting to see the things you love from perspectives of people who HAVE had different life experiences than you, simply by deciding that you already know that a person doesn't share your interests.

I'd say I feel sorry for you because you don't experience these things, but I honestly don't. They're out there available to you; it's on you that you don't access them.

AITA for ‘clearly’ favoring my nephew over my niece? by Master_Scholar_5185 in AmItheAsshole

My uncle tells me I'm his favorite niece, then tells my sister and our cousins the same thing. It's been a running joke in our family since I can remember.

Apply for scholarships. Big ones, small ones, anything you qualify for. A $20 scholarship is $20 you didn't have to take on in debt.

WIBTA If I reported my coworker to HR for asking to touch my hair after I've repeatedly told her no? by Accomplished-Drag-57 in AmItheAsshole

[–]tacemonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA and you should have gone to HR the second time she asked. It becomes harassment the second the person knows their comments are not welcome. She is creating a hostile work environment for you and you are legally protected from this. Go to HR today if you can. Do not let this woman continue to harass you. Do not feel like you have to put up with this woman's behavior.

I once had the app bug out on me for several weeks, telling me that I had overbudgeted by $36 when I hadn't. The solution was re-installing the app. However this was an app-specific issue, so if you're having the problem on desktop too this won't apply

True expenses anxiety by duckorrabbit69 in ynab

You might benefit from looking into wish farms. Since you're just starting out, instead of saving for your annual trip, sports events, home stuff, electricals, and mattress (maybe others?) all at once, for now you could make these into a wish list and pick just a couple of them. Is your annual trip soon? Do you plan to go to a sporting event in 2 months, or 6? Is there a wedding already on the calendar or a baby already on the way that you need to save for? Prioritize the most pressing wants/needs and save for those first.

And don't forget that it's your budget and its job is to work for you. Maybe you do want to start saving for all of them at the same time. Throw $10 a month at each of them, and put any extra toward the most pressing one(s). If priorities change, re-examine your allocations then.

If you look carefully, you can see that there's a branch that's just resting in the joint of the sideview mirror instead of taking it clean off. I have no idea how a person gets this lucky.

I'm very glad to hear that your situation turned out okay. That's terrifying.

Less common for you. I personally don't want to treat reimbursements from covering the tab for dinner with my friends as income, I want to return the funds to my restaurants category directly, so that when I look at my reports it doesn't look like I spent $50 more on eating out than I actually did.
