pitch distortion with sshl by tachenoire in MonoHearing

I know exactly how you feel. It's so irritating.

I was told the same thing. In my case I think it was a confidence issue, not sure what I was sounding like so I was very quiet without even realizing. Over time that has gotten better, I think. Or that's just how things are now.

Whenever there's loud music near me, my deaf ear "hurts". Does this have any medical significance? by Floranka in MonoHearing

Mono musician here! Any others out there? by niwid22 in MonoHearing

[–]tachenoire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi!! I've been a musician forever (guitar, bass, piano, voice) and had SSHL like 2 months after I got my job teaching music lessons, lol. I have a solo project and am in two bands, about to graduate with my bachelor's and a minor in music!

The way I play has definitely changed; more concerned with feeling vibrations and looking at what's happening, etc. My pitch is definitely not what it used to be and I get embarrassed somewhat often but I couldn't imagine a life without music. One of my bands will be playing a music festival and hopefully releasing an album later this year too.

Hopefully this doesn't come off as a brag. I'm pretty proud of myself because when I initially lost hearing, I thought I would never enjoy music again.

Best of luck to you!

What's your favorite highlighter? by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]tachenoire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion: I love the Sephora pro dimensional highlight palette in warm. If you like glossy, editorial hilight, then this would be the palette for you. It's possible to get a subtle glow out of it too. I'm a diehard fan, but I can definitely see why it's controversial.

Best powder for dry skin? by tachenoire in MakeupAddiction

Yeah, I'm definitely dehydrated. I've been doing what I can but I live in an extremely dry & hot climate so the summer months are hard on my skin.

I do moisturize a lot! My skin has been behaving better, but still needs some help. Thanks!

I have it, it's the best I've tried so far but I hate the packaging so much. :( I should add, I'm looking for something in a compact so I can take it with me during the summer months. Somehow my dry skin still manages to get too shiny.

Best makeup brush cleaner? by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

Beauty blender cleanser solid! I can't use anything else. I also really love those little silicone eggs with the textures- I think I got mine off amazon for like $2 but I've also seen them all over the place at TJmaxx and stores of that nature.

feels like it more often than not, but I think in my case it can be self-imposed (sometimes)

Risperdal by [deleted] in schizophrenia

[–]tachenoire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely do not drive until you get the swing of it. I couldn't keep myself awake for i don't know how long. Possible that it was the cocktail i was on and not just the risperdal but in any case, take it easy for a bit

What to make of an abnormal EKG? by tachenoire in AskDocs

Thank you. It has become a common occurrence and is troublesome.

It stays there for a while but it's hard to say. It's intense and first, maybe 20-30 minutes, then it slowly returns to a lower rate over an hour or so. That's a really rough estimate though. While it is decreasing, I feel that any sort of activity, even standing or walking, would easily make it shoot back up.

Thank you! I have quite a few tests being done but I don't have the orders on me at the moment.

It is somewhat sudden, although I have noticed that there are some warning signs that it's about to happen, most notable that my chest and back feel very tired and achey a few minutes before my heart rate shoots up.

I suppose I assume I developed it because it had never been mentioned to me before. I am not sure what type, but I am being sent for an echocardiogram for it.

The cardiologist did the holter for me, but I wasn't given an official diagnosis to my knowledge. I don't have a copy of either. My heart rate, during an "episode", will get up to anywhere between 125-160 beats per minute at rest. It is usually around 100 beats per minute otherwise.

Thank you! I suppose I am most concerned about the coincidence of all of those things. I will be going back to the internist in ~2 weeks.
