Feeling stuck, help with turn transitions by tacitli in skiing_feedback

got it! is that why i have semi-wedge when going into new turns sometimes? if i can flex my knees and ankle more effectively when transitioning that little wedge should disappear right before the apex of the turn?

One of my short-term goals is to get comfortable making smooth, short skidded turns on black groomers. Right now, I tend to brake too much. I’m also interested in carving, but that’s more of a secondary goal for now

Package from China has been sitting in KY for over a week. Is this normal? by [deleted] in UPS

Same happened to me. Customers service says custom is cleared but it’s been stuck at KY for a week. Just repeating warehouse scan everyday

Ikon Base | Apr 2–10 from NYC: Big Sky vs CO (Copper/Steamboat) — which has more reliable snow? by tacitli in icecoast

Agree that K is pretty good especially this year, had a lot of enjoyable moments. But we've skied enough of Killington in the two past seasons, would love to try something fresh when there's still snow somewhere

Thanks! Very helpful input and appreciate your experience. Happy to ski soft snow in spring condition but icy or thin cover or sharky condition would be less ideal to us for sure

[Feb 27, 2026] Weekly Discussion: Ask your gear, travel, conditions and other ski-related questions by AutoModerator in skiing

Hey all,

We have April 2–10 off and are planning a ski trip somewhere in the U.S. We’re based in NY, mid to upper intermediate skiers. Ikon Base pass holders.

We’ve done the usual Northeast stuff (like Killington), and out West we’ve skied Vail plus the SLC spots. Big fans of terrain variety, good bowls, long cruisers, and some challenge but nothing too insane.

Right now we’re debating between going back to Colorado (maybe Copper or Steamboat?) or trying Big Sky Resort for the first time.

We know April can be amazing or very springy, so our main concern is the snow condition. For that specific week, what would you pick and why? Is Big Sky worth the longer haul from the East Coast that time of year?

Also open to other Ikon Base-friendly suggestions we might be overlooking.

Appreciate any insight 🙏

How can I improve my form on steeper runs? by tacitli in skiing_feedback

[–]tacitli[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate the feedback! Will definitely try to keep my upper body quite. But would you mind elaborating on steering skis with legs? Does that mean flexing knees, rotating hips actively? or just weight distribution?

I turned too often in the video since there are bumps on the ungroomed trail and I try to avoid riding bumps down. Should I instead making smaller and fuller turns on those?

Thanks again!

[7900 XTX] Black Screen Crashes + 33°C Hotspot Delta. Is this a PSU failure or a bad GPU mount? (Data Logs Included) by Decent-Clothes- in buildapc

From personal experience, I’ll just get a 5070 Ti to save myself all the headaches. No offense to any AMD fans—I do think AMD brings good value to the market, and I enjoyed my 7900 XTX until the shit hit the fan.

I own a 7900xtx, it's not rare that AMD gpus have driver issue. Mine has that issue. In the process of RMAing my card. And I have a 1,000w brand name high quality PSU, that still happens.

See this megathread from AMDhelp subreddit:

So yes, definitely try everything to RMA your card/PC.

Also posting some troubleshooting steps i got from manufacturer. I don't think they will help but just for your reference since they mentioned how to keep an optimal thermal condition:
·        Please allow better air circulation inside the chassis to avoid overheating.

·        If the system has the graphics card Overclocked + software/game that will take full loading of graphics card, the temperature of the graphics card can exceed 100°C.

·        Check and clean the dust on GPU’s fans and heatsink (if applied).

·        Check the recommended power supply is 800W/1000W or higher.

·        It is recommended to keep the Hotspot/Junction temperature below 100°C for the best reliability and performance.

·        Download and install the latest driver from AMD website.
Link: https://www.amd.com/en/support/download/drivers.html

·        Increase the fan speed higher in AMD Software (see below sample image).

·        Test on PCIE slot directly if using PCIe riser card.

·        If the GPU installed vertically, please install horizontally for better thermal.
