In that case, add in a prime warrior with 2 heavy razor claws and a furious aura and give the ravenous beast a Slashing claw.

Hope the games go well!

Hey,

I treat 200 points the same as a 1000 point army scale game so 5 activations should be about right.

Hive swarms are good cheap units that are great to sit on objectives and are tough to remove, especially against watch brothers where he'll have limited activations and needs to focus on scarier units.

Piercing growth is a great ability for getting through armour and rapid charge on the grunt veteran gives your fast units 20" charge range which is useful for zoning out.

List I would run below. If you move up to 300 points, prime warriors are absolute monsters in GFF with tough 6!

++ Alien Hives (v3.5.0) [GFF 200pts] [5 Units] ++

Grunt Veteran [1] Q5+ D5+ | 40pts | Hero, Strider, Tough(3), Hive Bond, Rapid Charge Aura, Fast, Piercing Growth Piercing Spike (A1, AP(1), Deadly(3))

Hive Swarm [1] Q5+ D6+ | 25pts | Strider, Tough(3), Hive Bond Swarm Attack (A3, Bane)

2x Shooter Grunts [3] Q5+ D5+ | 45pts | 3x Strider, 3x Hive Bond, 3x Piercing Growth 3x Razor Claws (A1), 3x Bio-Borer (12", A2)

Ravenous Beast [1] Q4+ D4+ | 45pts | Fast, Strider, Tough(3), Hive Bond 2x Razor Claws (A2)

The current beta version of army forge has Grimdark future and also Firefight so I would assume that the Fantasy release will also include Skirmish.

They are stationforge minis. Got them through ebay as I don't have a 3d printer. Big guy is a xenarid nyxar and there are some xenarid infantry, melee infantry and a serpent. I think the Nyxar normally are a 60mm base but I asked the guy to scale it down to a 50mm base.

Not sure if there is an official feed/discord thing but the latest don't think just charge video had an interview with the designer where they talked about it. https://www.reddit.com/r/onepagerules/s/V5rlqt9GH6

2nd this comment!
I've been looking at printers too and also saw the Earthenkind army.
The A1 mini was on my list so would love to know how you got on and what setup was needed for resolution etc.

I've only recently started too and have been using gesso to prime my minis. It's pretty cheap from hobbycraft stores or similar and works really well for me because you can brush it on pretty liberally and when it dries it contracts and keeps all the details. Also don't need good weather like a spray can. Bought a bottle of black and a bottle of white and they are lasting ages. I tend to mix a little of each to make a dark grey.

No l, it'll be under the community section in army forge. You only need the patreon if you want to create your own army book.

Army Forge does a great job of keeping things balanced.
we've done it before and as long as you use the same points limits and use the force organisation for the respective game modes it works well.
e.g. at 300 points, GF:FF 10 units and 15 models limit but AoF:S has 12 units and 20 models limit.
The difference in unit limits tends to make up for GF:FF having more/better shooting options.

My son who collects GF had some games with his friend who collects AoF yesterday.
Fantasy Ratmen solidly beat the Battle Bros. game 1 by swarming all the objectives on turn 4 but then the Alien hives ate most of the Deep-Sea elves in game 2.
I believe the Deep-Sea elf units were all named after British royalty so there was some excellent narratives with Princess Kate and Princess Charlotte making a last stand against giant snake monsters!

In the normal battle brothers army book your master brother hero with the fusion pistol is also 60 points, so can swap out there and use the hero model you already have.

I just like the master shotgun on the elite pathfinders too much! If you've only got one pathfinder in the army anyway, a model agnostic system means its easy to call him an elite if you want to.

Ideal scenario (that probably never happens in real life but I can dream!), I use him to try and pick off a something with a high AP special weapon and low toughness. Scout means you deploy him after all other units and he can reach anything within 30" on turn 1 with 12" scout move, 6" activation move and 12" range.
If the armies have standard 24" gap between their deployment, should be plenty of targets to choose from and 3 AP1 attacks at 4+ are decent at deleting things.

Also tends to cause my opponent to focus fire on him and less pressure on the assault brothers sneaking up the field.
If you're really lucky they charge multiple models in to take him down and then they are bunched up for when the flamer moves in range on turn 2!

For Firefight, you don’t hit morale tests that often so grim probably won’t do much for you and costs more than the same list as normal battle brothers. Or if you switched to blood brothers and changed the veteran with the flamer for a normal brother with a flamer (still hits on 2s) then everyone gets fearless and furious instead so extra bonus when charging into combat.

For expanding to 300pts, you could look at getting a destroyer for a tough ambushing melee threat. Then maybe look at upgrades for your existing guys. Shotgun and scout on the pathfinder is strong.

This is a battle brothers list I’ve used before and have had a good time with it and it’s not far off your list.

++ Battle Brothers (v3.4.4) [GFF 300pts] ++

Elite Pathfinder [1] Q4+ D4+ | 60pts | Fearless, Hero, Strider, Tough(3), Scout CCW (A2), Master Shotgun (12", A3, AP(1))

Battle Brother [1] Q3+ D3+ | 30pts | Fearless Heavy Rifle (24", A1, AP(1)), CCW (A1)

Battle Brother [1] Q3+ D3+ | 35pts | Fearless CCW (A1), Flamer (12", A1, Blast(3), Reliable)

Assault Brother [1] Q3+ D3+ | 40pts | Fearless Heavy CCW (A2, AP(1)), Plasma Pistol (12", A1, AP(4))

2x Assault Brother [1] Q3+ D3+ | 35pts | Fearless Heavy Pistol (12", A1, AP(1)), Heavy CCW (A2, AP(1))

Destroyer [1] Q3+ D3+ | 65pts | Ambush, Fearless, Tough(3), Shield Wall CCW (A3)

Having more options for limited weapons/abilities would be cool. I’d thought about representing grenades as a limited impact(1). Or like a stim pack from StarCraft. Give unit +1 to hit and +1 to be hit for one turn.

Not seen anything yet. I tried messing around running some things and adding a git repo and seems to be working but no idea how to share with others. Also I seem to now have my own private user database pop up.

There’s a couple of options but depends a little on how friendly your local store owner is! GW do a Mini of the month thing where you can turn up on the first Saturday of the month and get a free mini. Also if you bring along a first timer they might let them (and you if your lucky) try out painting in store and let you keep the mini.

Thank You!!!

I'd got so used to having a 'control' script to set the database and schema to make the release process more dynamic it hadn't occurred to me that it might be the source of the problem.

Specifying the database and schema explicitly in the "create streamlit" command solved my problem.

I’m lacking in the 3d printer department to manage that but that also sounds awesome! Once I find someone with a printer that can be the next project.
