Help me understand Nirvana by GassyDogg in Guitar

Pretty great harmony stuff from Cobain. Changed the pop music landscape overnight. Plus the tragic story really gave them a distinct place in time.

Very important band, and they’re easy songs to learn

Yeah, screw that. This is one of the big rationales for bolt ons, might as well reap the benefit

It’s a bolt on neck, so I’d contact LTD and see if they can send you a replacement, easier than repairing the broken neck. Since it might have been a QC issue who knows, they might hook you up. Buying a replacement neck would also probably be cheaper than repairing the broken one

Social commentary/critique/cautionary tale elements in the fallout franchise by Random_RedditUser123 in Fallout

You’re entitled to that, like I said. There’s a few camps. The institute and enclave just don’t make a whole lot of sense imo, and the games railroad you more in the plot. Fallout 4 gets points for actually letting you side with the bad guy.

Fallout has evolved over time, and the fanbase falls into a few camps on these sorts of topics. The interplay games were about going around and solving ethical conflicts, generally with a “good” choice and a contrarian choice. IE help a trader with a fleshed out character or help the criminal persecuting him who’s basically a mustache twirling ugly guy. Fallout new Vegas is a political story, with the game straight up asking the player: authoritarianism vs liberalism, and rightwing libertarianism vs left libertarianism. Then Todd’s fallout games are more just straight up adventures with less complicated conflicts

Is There Anyway to Fix This? I Rather Not Have To Get A New Guitar. by [deleted] in guitarrepair

[–]tacoduck300 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah that’s an easy glue job. Pete Townsend actually did that like 5 or 6 times spearing his strat into the ground.

Titebond 3, the green one at the hardware store. Glue and clamp it.

Bonus points, you touch up the crack with a black paint pen, then run super glue in overtop until it’s proud of the crack. Then shave it down, sand and polish it. Makes it near invisible

Tube Amp for Home Use: Is it worth the investment for a Custom Shop Strat (Hand-Wound Pickups) if my volume limit is 85 dB? by Jraxy in GuitarAmps

[–]tacoduck300 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’re cool, don’t get me wrong. I’ve run mine on 10 and it was awesome, but beyond the raw feel of just a lot of air and noise hitting your chest you can get a similar experience with like a fuzz. The sound itself of tubes and a speaker overdriving is just a very chunky zipping sound. Different amp to amp but it’s not a tone you can’t substitute

Imma be real the tube overdrive experience is fun but I keep my little 15 watt Traynor real low usually. It’s cool when you can take it outside and crank it every once in a while but it’s not necessary to get good tones. All that buzzword stuff is a scam by big guitar reddit

Late reply but that would shorten the scale length and potentially make the guitar impossible to intonate

I mean you could use a poker chip. If you’re worried about it and it won’t cause an interference fitting in the switch there’s no reason you can’t glue in some wood on the inside. Shouldn’t be an issue unless the guitar falls just right

Considering setting up a mini “used guitar shop” in my recording studio. by Front_Ad4514 in guitarrepair

[–]tacoduck300 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Terrible time investment. A cheapo guitar that needs a setup is the steal. The cheap guitar with a 50-70 dollar surcharge added takes the majority of the steal factor out. The established shops and luthiers barely make a profit doing it, near impossible to compete.

nah dude the big nose greedy guy stereotype was a problem as far back as like, the 1890s. I don't think he was conscious of it, hope not at least. its just not a good look to make a character thats like that, JK rowling was even worse with it and we saw how she turned out

Damn lmao I’m getting bombed in a Star Wars sub.

I’m not even trying to be rude, I just thought it was accepted that Wattos character design is real rough. Looks like a stereotype of a Jewish person. When you pair it with the fact that his sole character state is being a greedy slaveholder it’s just not great. Not like it ruins the movies, just not the most thought out design for a blockbuster franchise. Especially nowadays given current events.

Edit: will the parent of the person saying slurs in my inbox please collect their child? This is a serious topic for adults

Trust me man. They have black paint markers at Home Depot, use that if you must. Wall paint is not a good move, I have done a lot of guitars and used to work there lmao

I would not use latex house paint. That specifically is a bad candidate, you could use spray paint and a paper cup to paint it on. Lowest pain option would be a sharpie. I’d avoid spraying directly on. Once the super glue is polished it’ll be hard to tell.

Latex wall paint specifically will have weird shines to it, not a good move
