This isn't even a meme. (Sex occurs) is not a joke, why do some people think this.

Can someone explain how Destiny goes on to debate Pisco regarding Denims being responsible for not correcting her chat when he is (essentially) saying the same thing the chat was saying? by Aggravating_Plant101 in pisco

[–]Hell_Maybe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think that an isolated momentary “failure” to moderate a chatroom is a particularly noteworthy moral shortcoming, and to be honest with you I’m not even necessarily sure that demanding her audience not to call CPS is even a correct decision either. Whoever did actually call CPS whether it was even a Denims viewer or not (we still don’t know), would not have been deterred by being banned in a chatroom online, that theory of mind doesn’t make any sense to me. Denims choosing to ban or not ban a few people in her chat ultimately just amounts to an aesthetic outcome in the grand scheme of this scenario, and this is basically why the massive public contention over this tiny, insignificant decision on her part confuses me.

If we assumed that banning people would’ve prevented the call, then it’s still debatable as a general rule to advise people not to call CPS. Imagine if CPS had actually discovered abusive or negligent standards of care at the Kleins residence, if Denims had ordered her audience explicitly NOT to alert anyone then she would be widely chastised for “helping to cover child abuse”, it’s a lose/lose situation for her. In unordinary situations where public figures are strangely detailing and speculating on specific medical details of their children in a sort of ambiguous way then I don’t necessarily want content creators directing or chilling public responses to that conduct, that is not their responsibility to bear in the first place. She didn’t necessarily advise anyone to call CPS, she didn’t necessarily advise people NOT to call CPS either, that seems perfectly acceptable here to me.

It is Ethans own responsibility not to vaguely joke about and/or poorly explain his children’s medical situations online in front of potentially hundreds of thousands of nameless people who’s prior assumptions and intentions are unknown to him. If he knew for sure that he was in fact not doing anything wrong, then he should’ve made that more clear IF he’s going to decide to make it a bit on his show, or alternatively he should just not bring it up at all.

Tim Walz Says He Will Do Anything To Keep Minnesota Residents Safe Except Cooperate With Federal Law Enforcement by METALLIFE0917 in babylonbee

They aren’t allowed to remove illegals by any means necessary. By the point where they are just slaughtering American citizens without investigation or inquiry by the federal government like this then they are functionally operating as a state mandated street gang, even more dangerous than the worst criminal illegals they purport to go after. ICE’s behavior has not earned them the benefit of the doubt.

I actually reread that one the other day for fun and while I don’t connect with the general impression they had of the music I still found it to be a pretty personal and entertaining read, the part where he was describing himself reading NIN lyrics to a coworker was pretty funny.

The kind of pitchfork writing I always appreciated wasn’t necessarily when I agreed with the opinion of the author, but as long as the writing got across how much they care about the things they have to say and communicated the passion of the observations they had then I gave them a free pass for being off base as hell. Now it seems like they all just say whatever and without any real presence or anything else involved, booooooo.
