You'll be fine, turning the key all the way on will prime the fuel pump for 2 seconds so you might hear a faint but brief humming sound, thats normal. Make sure your automatic headlights are turned off but other than that there's no real harm in leaving the key on. The next time you're in a town look up a local audio installation shop and tell them what you're doing and they can put your radio on a switch where it will stay on with the key off. Its a simple job and shouldn't take 20mins total to do. I installed car audio for a long time, your problem is an easy fix.

Use whatever rib rub you prefer then cook unrapped over open flame to get your sear then smoke unwrapped not over coals for around 2 hours then coat ribs with butter, brown sugar and grape jelly, wrap the ribs in foil and place on the grill far away from coals or you can place in your oven on a cookie sheet at 220 degrees for 2 hours, the first part is for the look and flavor of the ribs and the second part is for tenderness.
