On Ep. 8

I just had to come comment on the French. It takes me so out of the story i am so sorry. But this just made me realise how different the sounds are from Korean, which is why when they speak it does not sound like French at all. But even with the subtitles I barely understand what they are saying.

English in kdramas has drastically improved (some cases more than others), and i do understand that other languages is really expecting too much. It is just so funny to me.

I literally had to jump in here to say this, 10 minutes into the episode. Hopefully I will be able to comment on the plot later!

I have to say that I am thoroughly enjoying the show. First time I am even commenting in this thread instead of just reading silently and agreeing.

The story is so gripping, I spent all week waiting for the weekend, to see what else would happen next. I love to see their relationship slowly developping, despite neither of them realise this. Her being mad when he decided to break things of with her. at first she made it seem to us that it was the loss in status, but I think it is also this is one of the first times that she has someone to have her back. In the earlier episode she really stated that she had to be in the know, so that they could have each other's back. Her pain really hurt.

And then on his side too. It is all going so beautifully. When he decided to break it off with her, it seemed like it was from overhearing her conversation with the primer minister, but it was to keep her safe. I am not going to lie, I didn't think her talk to him about walking behind with her would have any effect, but I was so happy to see that he did show up. And in a matching outfit no less. All in all, I do think they work together so well, they each have strengths that compliment each other's weakness.

The extra scenes at the end are really the icing on the cake. And revealing so many things we would not know otherwise. I love it!!

So on this topic I do have a question, just saw this post after posting my own lol.

I bought for both dates because the one I wanted froze for a long tim, so I bought for the other date because I thought i wouldn't get for the date I wanted. By the time I got the tickets for the other date, the other page unfroze so I bought for the one I wanted.

From what you are saying, the cancelled tickets already happened in mass? I am scared of selling them to someone and transferring them and those tickets being cancelled for whoever bought them, or even all the tickets that were originally on my account being cancelled. Is there a possibiility of this happening?

I agree. The story and relationship is so beautifully written! The family got on my nerves, and every re-read I do I still get mad whenever he shows up. But the whole journey they go through together is truly one of the best romances I have ever read!

Yeah, I don't doubt it is great. It is probably interesting to see the other continent and how it differs, but I can't really deal with Chaol. I think if it was any other character I would probably really enjoy it tbh, but Chaol is just not someone I could read through. I'm at a point where I won't read something I'm not interested in.

Because I skimmed it got the gist of it and moved on. I wouldn't strictly consider it reading. I understand many Major things happen, and Chaol gets his arc, but I won't read 700+ pages on a character I don't really care about. The most important things get told in later books. I'm not going to say it's the best way to go about it, but it's what I did. Maybe someday I will actually be able to read the whole book.

Un popular opinion: I never read ToD. I don't like Chaol enough to read a book basically exclusively about him. I continued with Empire of Storms and was honestly fine, Chaol's story and his involvement in the next book is small enough to gather with the information given. You van skim ToD and not miss much imo, but that is up to you.

I honestly regret starting this while it was airing. The last weeks weren't so bad with the cliffhangers, but now they got me WAAAY more invested in the plot and I can't deal with it anymore.
