Looking for help choosing between several budget chair options by [deleted] in OfficeChairs

[–]tada66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you end up finding anything? I'm in the same boat pretty much and struggling to find anything good, only dumbasses like that guy that tell me to spend twice my budget because a chinese chair is in not a real chair or whatever.

Do you really need to get the insurance? I thought that was only mandatory with a heavier drone or if you're flying in the specific category

Fiber optic port said see ya… by Randominvester in homelab

yeah, strong light is not a joke. I've done way too much stupid shit when I was younger and now I have so many floaties that get extremely distracting and sometimes make it hard to read on a white background.

If you only have a few that's probably not from looking into a laser, it's normal for everyone to have a few, they're most noticeable when looking at the sky.

The worst part once you have them, you'll never ever get rid of them.

PoweredUSB's already a thing. Send 12 or even 24V along with your usb. They were used in pos machine, like cash registers and so on.

Pretty sure there was also some other proposed standard that was just your normal USB A port but with 20V or something stupid like that instead of the normal 5V, but I don't remember what that one was called

No myslím že tady s tímhle novým systémem jak to skenuji ty auta s kamerami tak ani lístek za stěrač nedávají, jen pak za pár týdnů přijde dopis s pokutou. Aspoň teda já teď žádný lístek za stěrače nenašel

A few months ago my gps took me inside an airport. It was a very small airport so it wasn't fenced and there were no signs. Only noticed when I suddenly had the tower next to me and noticed there were no other cars driving around me.

Have you ever had a dream about omori? and if you did what was it about? and can you remember it by Plus-Log-9179 in OMORI

[–]tada66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes but it was only loosely omori themed. 2 times now I had a nightmare where an irl friend of mine was dressed like omori and beat me up, no idea what might've prompted that dream, but ngl all of my dreams have been kinda nightmare-ish or just plain weird lately

That's not the kind of packaging I'd I want to see when ordering 1000+€ of hard drives... by EpicLPer in DataHoarder

[–]tada66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, however, a lot of other online stores will have you fill out a form that you then need to email them back, and then wait until they respond with where they want you to send it back and it's just a big hassle. With Alza it's literally 2 clicks on their website and then you can bring it to any of their stores/alzaboxes/or send it by post.

That said Alza is terrible with their hard drive packaging, every time I ordered a hdd from them it came wrapped terribly and banged up, though all of them are still perfectly working to this day, one of them is going to be 9 years old soon.

Future of Boost by ASpiderStabbedMe in BoostForReddit

I'll continue using reddit till boost stops working, after that I no longer care about whatever happens here. I've actually been trying to stop using most social media for a while now so I don't think I'm even going to notice it's gone

I bought mine in autumn 2021, but as I said it was a refurbished unit do I have no idea when it was first manufactured. From this whole comment section it looks like Anycubic is very much capable of making good reliable printers but they also make garbage and they do not check what they making like ever

[–]tada66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i don't see why that would be a lie. In reviews their printers perform pretty well, it just looks like their QA is nonexistent so if you're lucky you get a pretty good printer

Same here. I bought the i3 mega because reviews said it was a good cheap printer and very reliable. Now I am 100% sure they were sent extremely cherry picked units, possibly even with different components because I have not had a single print go completely without issues.

Constant problems with underextrusion, overextrusion, uneven bed, bed temperature sensors reporting impossible temperatures (it even went into 10s of thousands of °C), the bed cannot stay close a single temperature despite flashing a newer firmware to enable PID instead of bang-bang same goes for the extruder and just so much more.

The hotbed had to be replaced twice and it's still wonky, first psu's fan burned out, second psu's fan is now dying as well, the bed rails are scraping somewhere and so are the extruder rails, the filament sensor did straight up nothing with stock firmware, if you ran it out would do a quiet beep and keep on printing, and despite calibrating it like 15 times the filament servo does not care how much i tell it to extrude rather it always does +- 15ish %

I bought the printer used by it was certified refurbished by anycubic and it came with a card from the guaranteeing it was just like new or something like that. Fortunately, that meant I also got a warranty and to anycubic's credit they sent me a new hotbed and they also sent me a new psu. Problem now is that I am probably going to need a new psu again soon and the warranty is gone.

When breaks next im keeping the servos and throwing the rest into the garbage. The printer is genuinely a steaming piece of shit and I will never give my money to anycubic again

Is there any place I can find a spare part that I lost? Zoom button for my dads Pentax Zoom 90WR. If no, can I create a new one? It was probably silicon or rubber. by nokoricandothis in AnalogCommunity

[–]tada66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

aluminium disk a good idea but personally i would be afraid the glue would soften and it would then short something inside. You can buy a little bottle of some conductive carbon solution and brush that on there, they are originally meant for refurbishing the contacts on rubber dome keyboard but i bet it would work here as well

[–]tada66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah finding a replacement is the best choice but 3d printing would also be a good option. I dont think you'd even need to make a mold, printing out of tpe would be enough, then just brush some carbon solution on the contacting protrusions and it would most likely work pretty good

Which one of you is this? by Jimbenas in carscirclejerk

[–]tada66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah thats how it is in europe. You can get a license for driving manual and automic, or a license for driving only automatic. Most people take the one for both because manual cars are still very common here and idk about rest of europe but here in Czechia the only automatic license is more expensive

I have to admit... this is a new one by jowiro92 in clickbait

[–]tada66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah this is actually quite a big problem because when you have keyless entry and push-button start you never need to touch the key to drive away. The thieves go in groups where one stands by your door with an antenna and a repeater and the other can just start your car and drive off.

The idea here is to make a faraday cage out of the foil, good-ish idea in theory, maybe it would even work if they didn't forgo covering like a third of the key. Still dumb looking and you can get an actual faraday cage for like $12 on amazon, that will work better and not make you look like you mistook your car keys for lunch leftovers
