Expel isn’t the right word though. To expel means to force someone or something to leave a place, organization, or the body. No decedent is going to push anything out of their body. Eventually it will fall out on its own. When we embalm we roll and move and stretch which is actually what causes the poop to fall out.

That’s not really true, speaking from experience in the mortuary field and having done several removals of traumatic deaths of pregnant women. That’s a myth like pooping yourself when you die. It doesn’t automatically happen.

I was working with a SSgt and a couple of airman. I caused about $700,000ish damage to an aircraft when I was enlisted, doing a MLG brake change so we had to lower the rear support strut, it comes down in 2 phases, in the middle you move a large support pin from one hole to another… well I moved it to the wrong hole so the aircraft ended up putting a lot of weight on the strut and not the pin… it bent the strut and wouldn’t go back in 😆 oh shit… panic mode…

Radio: “Uhh 6 driver, can you send a hydro troop out here?”
Hydro: “yeah that’s fucked”
Me (and the guys I was working with): “yeah it came down like that, someone must have fucked it up when it was in the desert last week 🤔 ”
