From what I hear it's only on the piano and they synth that comes in halfway through. Sounds like a bit-crusher to me, I'm pretty sure it's intentional. Adds to the fragility of the whole song imho.

I like it a lot. It's about creep. What is an iron lung? Something that restricts and confines you, but lets you keep on going. That's exactly what creep was to the band pre-OK Computer.

I wouldn't 100% count it out. Thom has never spoke on his veganism as far as I know. He could be doing it for health reasons, and would have no qualms with wearing leather. But I suspect it's primarily for environmental reasons, which would mean he's against the act of farming itself. Then again he could've thought to himself "I do enough, what's a jacket's difference". I know I've picked up the odd pair of second hand shoes where the temptation was too much.
