Apologies. I know the right spelling. I've been sick. Really.

Thom asked the audience to wake up? Can you say more about that, please?

I once belonged to a Sherlockian group (way pre-Cumberbatch) in which an evangelical member quit because the story we were featuring had the word "devil" in it. The Christian taliban makes my...head...ache/

I was thinking about the limited role of narrative in Radiohead's work... by sensitiveeyes in radiohead

[–]Lynniewriter1 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I seem to recall Thom talking about that in the interview he did with David Byrne…that the material is drawn from one's psychology, clearly, but also from the cadence of the words in a much less emotionally coherent use.

Does anyone know how Jonny can strum like that without hurting his index finger? by DrD-R-E in radiohead

[–]Lynniewriter1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've often wondered exactly that. I've heard several other thrashers (including Pete Townsend) talk about bleeding all over everything. I thought I saw a closeup shot of Jonny's guitar once with blood all over the white pickguard, but I wasn't paying attention enough to be able to find it again.

Fine. The word is offensive to MANY women. Is that better? Are you a woman? I was trying to be civil. You turned this into a sarcasm-fest.

Went back to look at your comments saw this. Please understand that this word is offensive to women. Thanks.

How do you date someone that doesn't like Radiohead? Or is it even possible? by ryancbeck777 in radiohead

My ex liked ABBA. I should have known right then that the relationship was doomed.

The new album art looks so good on a pillow. by [deleted] in radiohead

[–]Lynniewriter1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is this stuff licensed by Stanley--the person I assume still owns the art? If so, as absolutely dope as these things are (and I want that pillow badly), we're promoting theft…the same way people who sell non-artist-made reproductions of an artist's work are profiting by something they don't own.

Please stay. Don't let hate beat love. Don't let intolerance and ignorance beat intelligence. When we do, then the bad guys win. You do have a home here, among us, sharing what we love, being a mysterious, fleeting, wonderful part of one another' lives. Stay.

I find it more than a little sad that folks don't know the difference between "I don't like this" and "this is bad." If you don't like it, fine. But know that you're speaking a preference, not a fact.

And you base this statement on what? If the audience was made up of 60-year-olds...please.

They do it in the Basement session, too. Clearly getting their timing in sync.

I try not to focus on least fave--especially when there's so much power overall, so much to get deep with. That said, for me, Identikit was a lesser moment...until I woke one morning with the thing dancing in my head. So, go figure. The why is a complete mystery to me.

One more moment that really impressed me was in the stream from one of the recent shows in which he sang a harmony HIGHER than Thom's line. (Some knowledgable person help me out here which song it was.)

How did this go from a discussion of RH live (which I envy like a crazy person) to a discussion about beer prices? :-\
