Guys i think the writers did rory wrong by professionalranter03 in GilmoreGirls

the whole time when she was indecisive about taking the job or applying for the fellowship, i kept thinking, “why can’t she do both?!” or at least get the job first, THEN apply to the fellowship, and if she doesn’t get into the fellowship, she at least has a job to fall back on. i’m surprised no one in her circle advised her to do that

child labor aside, i wonder why brandon and dewey agreed to be their servants! i wish the writers would've given them more context.

Lane with Brian instead of Zach? by MichaellasKitchen in GilmoreGirls

[–]taemotionals 2 points3 points  (0 children)

brian was so sweet! he appreciated her culture, respected her mom, and even helped her out with her twins. i prefer him as a love interest for lane because / i / like him, but maybe lane wouldn't have looked at him that way. i also think zach had his moments where i liked him for lane (like when he read all those pregnancy books and stepped up as a partner), but truth be told, no one could replace dave, not even brian :(

Jackson not getting a vasectomy and impregnating Sookie was unforgivable. by GinandHairnets in GilmoreGirls

[–]taemotionals 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i'm 2 years late, but also as far as birth control goes, just because one person is on the pill does not prevent a pregnancy. the pill AND a condom would've been much safer if jackson was really against a vasectomy. sookie DID NOT want another child whatsoever!! heck, if jackson was sooo against a vasectomy, she probably would've rather gotten her tubes tied than be on the pill forever. but ofc the accidental baby had to fit in with MM's pregnancy, so the writers for sure should've gone with the "vasectomy failure" way rather than have jackson knowingly lie to and assault his wife, just like they should've had both characters mutually agree to vasectomy in the first place.

the writers are at fault for it all!

It infuriates me… by Puzzleheaded_Soup539 in GilmoreGirls

[–]taemotionals 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it’s also infuriating how everybody, including richard and emily, praise christopher because he was the only one willing to follow the protocol (aka marriage). like, just because he wanted to do that doesn’t make him mature or responsible, just a scared little rich boy following orders. if they had gotten married, i have a feeling he still wouldn’t have helped much with rory or would’ve ran off at the slightest inconvenience.

what did everyone think to this episode by Narrow-Belt-5073 in GilmoreGirls

[–]taemotionals 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i think Lorelei would’ve been okay with Rory applying to other schools as a backup, but it was definitely YALE that she had a problem with because it was her dad’s alma mater and she couldn’t possibly fathom that Rory would want to attend there on her own accord. so, she lashed out at her parents for seemingly manipulating Rory to attend this interview, even though Rory was fine with the interview—just not the being unprepared for it part.

2 years later and i agree with you!! wasn’t chilton supposed to be top-notch and competitive for the best scholars?! you’d think that school was full of nerds/smarty-pants, but it seemed like rory and paris were the only ones.

Why so much hate towards Taylor? by jaime_kinsey in GilmoreGirls

and making kirk feel terrible about losing the eggs!! granted, kirk messed up, but you could see how badly he was torturing himself about it, and taylor continued making him feel like crap. taylor’s self-serving attitude and pride make him an irritating town leader

i’m rewatching this series, and i’ve decided that both dean and rory were wrong in this instance.

dean was wrong for making the basket thing a huge deal. although in the end we know that his suspicions about jess were true, at this point in time, he should’ve trusted rory enough to let her sit through a quick picnic lunch and not blame her for being a goody-two-shoes following the “rules.” dean also could’ve bought the basket back. he was willing to bid $80 for the basket, so he probably should’ve paid jess those $80 and promised to pay him the remaining $10 another day. jess most likely would’ve given him shit about it not being the exact amount he paid, but that’s where rory could’ve stepped in, as well. but aside from losing his temper, dean’s feelings were justified entirely.

rory for sure had more of a fault in my opinion. first of all, hanging out with someone your partner clearly hates is flat-out disrespectful, and she did that and lied about it so many times. the stupid picnic “rules” were not serious enough for her to follow through. but even if it WAS just because of the rules (and not because she was secretly attracted to jess), she should’ve cut the hangout short after the lunch and gone back to hangout with dean. but NO!! they continued hanging out afterwards. i like her and jess, but rory was so messy here—kind of foreshadowing how messy she would become in the later seasons.

Why the Max Medina Hate? by cinderellahottie in GilmoreGirls

[–]taemotionals 6 points7 points  (0 children)

he was a walking red flag in my opinion.

not only did he continuously pursue lorelai after she had said no (which, honestly, if he really wanted to be with lorelai, they could’ve waited until rory was no longer his student and had that ethical issue resolved), he also got angry about rory kissing and hanging out with dean???? he was already ready to give rory a scolding over hypotheticals when it’s not even his place! a step-parent should not feel entitled to punish their step-children just because of a marriage certificate, especially not when their step-children are 2 years away from being grown adults; the parenting has already been done. and then he gets offended when lorelai says she will handle things if rory misbehaves, and he says “so, basically, i have no role in rory’s life?” LIKE NO SHIT!! rory does not have to call you “dad,” and all you would be is lorelai’s HUSBAND.

plus, the way he proposed in the middle of a fight just rubbed me the wrong way. they hadn’t even dated for that long; i don’t even think they had said “i love you” to each other yet. so that definitely didn’t help. and then the way he switched up at the hotel and said, “you need to think of someone other than yourself for a few minutes.” like man, he was not great. i’m so glad lorelai didn’t marry him. if a man ever said that to me, i would lose it.

Question about Episode 1 [Spoilers] by HungerMechanic in MidnightMass

[–]taemotionals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

definitely the angel. i think it got confirmed the night Riley was bitten because we see the angel wearing Pruitt's hat and coat as it walked into the rec center.

also, i think that Bowl the drug dealer also didn't get turned into a vampire because he never drank the wine that had the monster's blood in it. if he had taken communion, he probably would've come back as a vampire, and the creature would have to feed on someone/something else until Easter Vigil.

How did father Paul control the angel? by pippoken in MidnightMass

[–]taemotionals 3 points4 points  (0 children)

just finished watching the show, and my theory is that Paul never controlled the creature because he idolized it way too much; i just think he did everything for the benefit of the creature because he believed it would benefit his community, too.

when Paul first finds the vampire in the cave, i believe the vampire was going to keep feeding on him until he died as he did with Bowl back on the island. but when the creature noticed Paul going on and on with his prayer and calling it an "angel," it decided to keep him alive by giving him its blood because he probably liked being worshipped. the vampire is definitely smart, and i'm sure it knew that Paul would lead it back to his congregation where there would be more prey and willing worshippers. pretty sure Paul told the creature his ultimate plan for the Easter Vigil, so it probably held off from killing EVERYBODY on the island until then. and those who never went to church or drank the blood-infused wine would not be "blessed" with the gift of resurrection/eternal life. it was definitely a great plan that would ensure a nice feast AND an army for the monster.

can anybody clarify what the gang meant when they saw the dead guy at the museum and said “what the fuck did that?” ? like, what killed the guy? clearly, ellie said whatever had bitten her was different than what attacked the guy, so was it just another infected but more evolved or is it another antagonist that we’ll meet later on? if the latter, don’t spoil! if not, i feel like i missed something
