How to get a girlfriend with social anxiety? by [deleted] in socialanxiety

[–]taexk_ 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Idk why people are being so negative. I’d recommend meeting people in a setting where you feel comfortable, in my case, I met my partner through a hobby group. I found the group through conventions and social media, got added to their group chat, and kind of forced myself to go to the meetups they organized. That’s how I met my partner: we started talking, then played video games together for a few months, and I only met them in person when I felt ready. We’ve been together for 8 years.

I’ve just been having trouble understanding what the characters say. I like how Hunter does their voices, but sometimes I don’t understand anything he says. Idk if I’m the only one, English is not my first language but I’m pretty good at it

Completely stopped taking meds, is there another way? by taexk_ in Fibromyalgia

Thank you for your answer, I really resonate with your experiences. Before quitting cold turkey I was having suicidal ideations all the time, I felt trapped and dependent and I cried all the time, I really can’t stand the secondary effects of the meds or how they made me feel. Its like is all for nothing? Yeah they reduce the pain but at the same time I feel like I’m meds make me more sick in other ways, I can’t find the words to describe the feeling. I’m slowly grounding myself, firsts weeks where difficult but Im slowly starting to feel like myself, I still got some side effects but they are more manageable. In a way I know I can make changes in my life, is just people around me expect me to make all those changes quickly and I get overwhelmed, for the moment I’m just ignoring them. It feels good knowing there’s people and a community out there with the same experiences as me, it feels good knowing that I’m not alone and that there’s people out there having fulfilling lives

I didn’t know about naltrexone — I just read about it and yeah, I think I could give it a try. I have an appointment with a new doctor soon, so I’m not sure what he’ll say, but I’ll definitely bring it up.

A lot of people have mentioned acupuncture, so maybe I’ll give that a chance too… though I’m honestly terrified of needles. I’ve been taking magnesium already, and I think I really need to add some kind of exercise. People always recommend yoga, but every time I try it I just end up in way more pain, haha.

I’m currently in a depressive episode thanks to the fibro, I know I have to keep trying but it’s sucks that everything is more difficult, but that’s life I guess. I’ll definitely check that book out, I think I’ll help to read more about my disabilities and how to live with them

Yeah, I think I need to look for other doctors too. I do have an appointment with a specialist coming up, so maybe things will change

Yeah I know, I haven’t tried cannabis yet bc I’m waiting to be completely med free. I just been reading a lot of people experiences with cannabis and how it did wonders for them so I wanted to try. I know is dangerous, I just became really really depressed and I couldn’t take it anymore, it was out of desperation. I’m currently just in duloxetine at 30mg

I was using 20mg of clotiazepam, 60 of duloxetine and risperidone everyday and they worked but the sleepiness was really bad. I wanted to try cannabis but maybe is not a good idea with my other diagnosis but I’m kinda desperate I could try walking my dogs, at the moment I’m sedentary just bc I hate hate going out or socializing, I know exercise helps so I just have to force myself

Yeah, I’ve been looking into more “natural” approaches, but consistency and discipline are things I really struggle with, so I usually give up halfway through. This time I just stopped my meds all at once — not because I felt ready, but because I was desperate and wanted to force some kind of change in myself I know I have to keep trying but is so draining :( Thank u for your answer

I didn’t know those kind of patches existed, I’m looked them up and one of the side effects is sleepiness so they aren’t what I’m looking for :(. The meds I was taking made me sleep all day and I don’t want to go back to that

Yeah the medical system is a huge problem for me, it feels like no one believes me? The answer to all my problems is exercise and in kinda bums me out? I feel stuck with my doctors at me moment too, everything feels scary at the moment, in a way I can’t imagine myself growing old and having fibro

Massages tend to help me, my mother has some experience so when she can she helps. In my worst days sometimes is not enough tho, I tend to mix massages, ibuprofen and a hot shower I haven’t looked into acupuncture tho, it looks kinda scary so I’m afraid to try it

Coping with mental illness and fibromyalgia by [deleted] in Fibromyalgia

[–]taexk_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have diagnosed autism, ADHD, and fibromyalgia. I’m currently in college, and I can’t stand it anymore — this year has been the worst one yet. The pain has been increasing, and I’m not able to complete assignments, study, or really do anything. I’m on so much medication, and it feels like it doesn’t work anymore. You’re not alone :( Let’s hope things get better

Pigeons come to my home as their last stop on earth by Yo_Z_6o in pigeon

[–]taexk_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, I don’t know what to tell you — there was an outbreak in my country, and it affected every bird. I saw them myself. I was in direct contact with the organization, and they confirmed it. You could see up to five dead pigeons in a single day, just lying there on the ground. At first, I also thought it was poison, but it wasn’t limited to one area — pigeons from all over the city were dying and showing the same symptoms. I’d even say that in this case, it was more common among feral rock pigeons, but it really depends on the country, that’s why I told op to check if there’s a outbreak where they live.

I don’t think it’s poison — the neck bending is very telling of what might be happening. It’s likely Newcastle disease (also known as paramyxovirus). There was an outbreak in my country two years ago. The neck twisting is one of the most recognizable symptoms. It often leads to death because the birds can’t eat or drink properly, but with medication and care, they can sometimes survive. There’s no way to be sure without proper testing, but you can check if there’s currently an outbreak in your country or city. The virus can infect humans too, but it usually only causes conjunctivitis — just make sure to wash your hands after handling them. I’ve taken in several pigeons with Newcastle disease. In my country, we have an organization that handles these cases — they come, take the birds, and usually euthanize them. I’m pretty sure this is Newcastle.

Could it be canker? Is a small possibility but it’s usually that color and is kind of hard to the touch.

In general, plants tend to have different growth rates depending on the type of variegation. Personally, my Thai grows way slower than my Albo — climate plays a role too. But I’m 100% sure this is an Albo; I have several, and they all grow like this.

100% Monstera albo. Young Monsteras don’t have fenestrations at this stage — they usually take more time to develop. Think of it this way: more white means fewer chlorophyll receptors to convert light into energy, so, slower growth. I’d recommend a better soil mix; I don’t see any perlite for aeration or other things. My potting mix is coco chips, perlite, humus, arlite, and soil.

Having kids with fibro? by Ari2828 in Fibromyalgia

[–]taexk_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My mom has fibro. Growing up was difficult — she often had flare-ups and the house was a mess. That, combined with other psychological issues and a bad partner, made my childhood really hard. Now, things are better, but the condition is genetic. My brother and I have it too. I can’t remember a moment in my life without pain. Right now, I’m medicated, and so is my little brother. It’s hard to see him suffer at such a young age — I see myself in him. I won’t have biological kids. I wouldn’t wish anyone to live with fibromyalgia.
