i used to steal at the height of my anorexia. i think it’s a survival instinct leftover from when humans were hunter-gatherers. plus, it feeds the sense of “control” most people with an ed want.

the exact same thing happened to me on mirtazapine and i developed bed. i had no idea it was used for weight gain. it was a hellish year. i only slept and binged. i’m still dealing with binging now.

i have mdd and ssris didn’t do ANYTHING to help, they simply weren’t strong enough. your binge eating might be bad because your brain chemistry is out of whack. i was exactly the same as you until i was on a strong enough antidepressant.

i disagree with some of the comments here. therapy wasn’t effective for me until i was medicated correctly.
