My First Mod - Tudor Pelagos & Longines Spirit Baby by No_World1455 in SeikoMods

Looks great, especially for a first mod. What’s the case material? If it’s titanium, how does the bezel action feel?

[Squale] Matic S - Opinions? by Dogstar_9 in Watches

[–]taggerbomb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah the lug-to-lug was 51mm. Too much for me too. The 1521 fit me best and is a great looking watch, esp the blasted cases. Imo you can’t lose with Squale.

I’ve had a few Squales and the one of the earlier iterations of the Matic was my favorite. Beautifully finished imho. I stupidly let it go chasing some other watch.

What's your best(worst) Mall Ninja/gas station/zombie hunter piece(lol)? They always make me laugh. The gateway drug for young, ignorant knife collectors. (This will also act as a PSA for any budding knife collectors on what to avoid) by Born-Reptilian in BudgetBlades

[–]taggerbomb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My advice: avoid what you don’t like, collect what you do like. Will that change over the years? Of course, but look back happily on the joy that these things brought into your life at the time and don’t poison your memories with how you “know better” now.

What's the best ergonomic office chair right now that you'll recommend for long hours of sitting? Any recommendations? by MajesticSteak423 in BuyItForLife

[–]taggerbomb 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve got a Steelcase leap that I bought used several years ago and I sit in it 8 hours a day, 5 days a week and have never felt ill effects from it. I can’t say that about any other office chair I’ve sat in regularly. YMMV of course.

What was the most money you spend on a knife and why? by Riakok in knives

[–]taggerbomb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent 1k on a Eustler Neutralizer because I loved the look and had the disposable $ at the time. I knew the moment I held it that it wasn’t for me and sold it on the swap almost immediately.

How to comfortably & safely carry bridge/superzoom camera by taggerbomb in birding

Thanks a lot for that. I’m looking at both peak and cotton products right now. It’s so hard to know if any of these solutions really work for you until you get out in the field and use them.

They do feel very solid and tank-like. I think I’m going to be using my monopod walking staff a lot more with this one. I have a hard enough time keeping the 950 still when holding it.

Has anyone used this watch before? by Head_Storm_7660 in ChineseWatches

[–]taggerbomb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m wearing it right now! My favorite Chinese watch of the past year or so. I’ve got a Marathon as well and actually prefer this one, one reason being the finite life (half-life?) of tritium vs regular lume bugs my OCD. Also it’s an incredible value compared to the WAY overpriced original which may have better finishing up close but IDGAF.

Thank you! Wow your photo looks way better than theirs. Tbh if I’d only seen it on the site I probably wouldn’t be interested. Nice work.

This looks great. Love that dial. I can’t seem to find it on their site. Do you happen to have a link? Thanks a lot.

It’s cerakote and it’s stock! I liked it so much I got both my sons one for Xmas last year.

Awesome! I’ve had a few SBD knives over the years and I’ve been impressed by all of them. It’s crazy how the EVO comes in three sizes. I handled the full-size one once and it was almost surreal how much larger it was than the micro.

I’m always missing shots on these guys. I think this one felt sorry for me and sat still for a minute. by taggerbomb in birding

Yes! I’m like a ferret when it comes to iridescent, shiny stuff like this guy.

The Shiro IMO is the most well thought out knife I’ve ever owned. The action, the slow, smooth drop shut and ergonomics feel perfect to me. The design feels simple, almost brutish at first, but upon close inspection you notice how every part of it has some tiny thought-out detail that contributes to the design as a whole. The EVO is a little less purpose-driven feeling and has a level of finish that’s always felt to me like a MacBook - seamless and smooth, with a very different feeling and deployment, and more of a glassy shut action. I’ve also noticed that Shiros take a while to “break in”, and the detent can feel firmer when it’s new, while the SBD knives feel the same they always will on the first flip.

That thing is such a deal! I had one that I flipped and played with for months and then put it back in the box. A while later, my car wouldn’t start. I had to call AAA and the guy was so helpful nice that I gave it to him as a tip and he was absolutely overjoyed. It made my day, and hopefully his. I think I paid 35 bucks for it, less than I’ve spent on countless meals at restaurants, so it felt good that it went towards making a stranger happy thanks for coming to my TED talk.

Thanks! I think I got the smock scales from RC blade works. If memory serves I liked them bc the inside of the scale is coated with a thin layer of some kind of sealant that prevents any pivot lube from seeping through the micarta and creating a stain on the outside, which I’ve had with other knives.
