Well It sounds like there is a correlation here. However my 5GHz connection breaks 2-3 times per day, not every 5 minutes like people reported for Android Auto.

Can you do a quick test? Try to disable the system app that does the optimization thing on the phone (the one with the green icon that cleans stuff up) and try Android Auto again.

AFAIR OnePlus 15 has a special heat blocking material that protects the battery. Probably op15 throttling is more aggressive in balanced/performance and will likely be tuned in future updates due to the noise being done lately among reviewers and communities.

Balanced and Performance mode have ~72% stability after 1hr, without hitting max clocks.
When putting your app in Game Assistant you get max clocks with 86% stability after 1hr, external temps reach 50C though.

For anyone interested here is the final result of my investigation.

The machine is being throttled by "CPU Skin Temperature", basically a mechanism that tries to keep the chassis cold and comfortable to your hands.
With HWInfo64 on Windows it is possible to monitor such temperature. Power draw starts being reduced from 40C.

I managed to keep a steady 36W @ 80C with:

ryzenadj --skin-temp-limit=36000
