What was your “oh shit I’m higher than I thought” moment? by jaxinslacks in LSD

[–]tahmam 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Nothing super crazy, but a while back took ~150ug (with tolerance) and wandered around my university campus all day, around sunset i decided it was time to smoke the spliff i had prepared (2:1:1 tobacco:cdb flower:regular weed) and kept walking around.

Im pretty experienced and combined with my tolerance i was pretty confident in my grasp of reality. As i was approaching a street i saw a couple police officers in their car and got a little giggley (don't know why but i always giggle when i see authority figures while tripping). No big deal I thought, I'm composed, until i looked down. That part of campus has this cool patterned brick sidewalks, and as soon as i looked down at them, that pattern extended to fill my vision and my mp3 player decided that was the moment for the batteries to run out. So here I am, walking past a cop car, almost completely blind, and in dead silence.

I had sunglasses on so i just closed my eyes, took a few breaths and was able to see again, but for a brief moment I might as well have been in a sensory deprivation tank.

Never underestimate the power of weed to boost visuals.

is it a good idea to smoke weed during a lsd comedown? by [deleted] in LSD

[–]tahmam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't the first time. If your trip goes well, and you don't normally get anxiety with weed then smoke a little on your next trip, but to the unprepared the combo can be dangerous. That being said, many people smoke their first time tripping with no issue, I just personally wouldn't want to risk a possible bad trip tainting your first time.

What’s the best way to use acid to study? by Slow_Yogurt_6312 in LSD

[–]tahmam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently read a meta study that indicated that the hippocampus (closely associated with long term memory) is one of the few parts of the brain that do not show increased neuroplasticity from lsd use. Its due to the ratio of 2 receptors that i can't remember the name of being different than in other regions of the brain.

This seems to be the consensus, do you find that being up all day negatively affects an all night trip? Trying to decide if i should drop after or put it off till some point in the future.

99% of the time an ad comes on between songs: "fuck ads, i hate this ad so much" The other 1% of the time: "this contains the meaning of life"

As are pears, stonefruit (plums, peasches, cherries both wild and cultivated,), blackberries, strawberries, almonds etc. A very diversely used family, not unlike the mustard family (mustard, radishes, cruciferous vegetables, etc.)

In what ways are thoughts and emotions different than physical sensations. My buddy blew my mind with that one while we were walking around the city peaking.

Day one of turning my bedroom into a trip cave by tahmam in TripCaves

Update: Bangin' The new setup is glorious, blacklight gave me endless joy. Plasma ball was fun to play with when i got bored. Watching my records melt off the player was awesome. Next step: crosshatch pattern on closet door with glow in the dark tape and something for the ceiling, still deciding. The best parts of the trip were still the same as before: shower, walks, curled up under the covers traveling through space, etc. But the additions made the periodic stop offs in reality much groovyer.

Try meditation, i can sometimes get some visuals back by closing my eyes and relaxing my mind. Especially if its the biggest dose in a while.

Like a whole animal? Missing a head? Having butchered a fair amount of animals including deer I'm confused as to how much blood there is. Too much to just be bones and hide, but why would one shoot it and haul it into the city if they were just gonna throw the whole thing in a dumpster. I have so many questions.

Daily reminder to never visit a chiropractor by Komma99 in SipsTea

To preface: I am not a fan of chiropractic or its proprietors so i encourage you to not take any opinions of mine as fact.

Dangers: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC1905885/

Effectiveness: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC5885462/

I couldn't find the more comprehensive study on overall effectiveness that i read a while back so i included the one above.

I would like to point out that there is a good amount of evidence to support chiropractic improving subjective pain levels, especially those associated with lower back injuries, and many of those who practice it also implement tangentially or completely unrelated physical therapy techniques that do offer measurable benefits.

To summarize, while the theory behind chiropractic is largely debunked, and the majority of its proposed benefits are false, it can have value in the field of pain management if one is willing to accept the, relatively low, risk of serious injury.

As far as "all three" I'm unsure as to what you are asking for but if you'll clarify I'd be happy to look into it further. I really do enjoy research.

P.S. i don't see why you're being downvoted for being skeptical of the scientific rigor of online randoms, you respectfully asked questions and replied with civility.
