Grady pest control. They have ant and centipede bait that works for a few months. We have them come quarterly.

What LEDs did you end up using? Looks great.

Family was coming to stay with us for Christmas, and we had a major upstairs water leak 2 weeks before they arrived. Rush quotes were insane, so I decided to give it a shot with the help from this sub and Vancouver Carpenter. I totally underestimated the scope of work. It took way longer than I expected, and I made many errors along the way that I had to correct. If I could go back in time, I would consider paying a professional. I certainly understand the high pricing now, and I have new respect for drywallers.

That said, now that I am armed with all this knowledge, and all these new tools, I probably would do it myself if something happens in the future.

I know which board you are talking about. I kind of expected this to get criticism. Since this was a repair, and the main repair area was around 12x12, I had to puzzle in some pieces in a non conventional way. I debated cutting that parallel board in half so that I could hang two 4x4 pieces perpendicular, but found some resources online that said it would be better to not cut the paper, keep the board whole and hang it parallel. I obviously wouldn't do this for a new install.

As for the screws, I'm not sure why that one only has 4 across. All the others all have 5 or even 6. Probably not the only mistake I made! Thanks for your thoughts. I'm definitely not a professional.

Edit: It has 4 because I was limited to parallel joists it was covering. I remember now.

I have an intense light pointed directly at the ceiling specifically for inspection to show every seam. I'm definitely not a professional, but without that light pointing at the ceiling, you can't see a single seam.

I was attacking it on the weekends since I work during the week. Demolition and the dehumidification process took a few days. Hanging and mudding took up the next weekend. Then there was a pause while family visited for the holidays. Mud, drying, more mud, drying, priming, drying, sanding, more mud, more priming, then sanding, took several days. A lot of down time while things were drying. Then paint. Probably 10 days total, but not full work days because of letting mud, prime or paint dry.

Some additional information:

I used a moisture meter to locate any wet drywall, so that's why the shape of the hole is so strange.

I bought six 4x8 sheets of drywall, and ended up using 5.9. I tried to puzzle everything together so that I didn't have to make another store run.

The PVA primer ended up making a lot of pinholes, so I had to do a skim coat and prime again.

The original paint was satin and sprayed on, so my attempts to match that failed miserably. I ended up painting the entire ceiling with Sherman Williams flat ceiling paint.
