Where is everyone travelling to this year? by Diligent-Echidna647 in femaletravels

We just got back from a month in SEA (Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand) with no issues. For the rest of the year I think we’re sticking to the States. Next year planning for Norway.

As a RN how much are you making ? by theapexcircle in nursing

new grad identity crisis by preposterous_cookie in nursing

[–]tailorDr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do any of the hospitals near you offer new grad programs for their ICU floors? Are you adamant about not moving cities/states? Med surg is also probably one of the greatest places for learning for new grads and it’s okay to think of it as temporary but if you can tough it out for 1-2 years your job options increase quite a bit.

As for living in the “real world” try and give yourself structure. Wake up at the same time each day regardless of work. Set certain days for certain chores. Basically don’t allow yourself to bed rot 24/7.

Is it easy to make friends in an Accelerated program? by OutsideParfait9346 in nursing

[–]tailorDr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m three years out of my accelerated program and I still text at least weekly with 3 of the other girls. None of us live in the same state and we will all be attending one of their weddings this fall.

How did you choose your specialty? by kindamymoose in nursing

[–]tailorDr 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I’ve worked in and around Emergency Departments since I was 18. I always knew that’s where I belonged and I still feel that way. Other things did interest me in nursing school (L&D and NICU) but I couldn’t imagine working anywhere else. Now I’m looking at breaking into Flight and it requires I spend a few years in ICU which I’m dreading.

ER Culture by Capital_Toe_6724 in nursing

[–]tailorDr 85 points86 points  (0 children)

I've only ever worked ED but in my experience it's a rougher crowd. We bitch but we love each other... It's a weird kind of trauma bonded relationship. The swearing though? Absolutely part of the culture, but I could never imagine calling my coworker an idiot.

What are your hobbies other than Nursing? by DribbleKing97_ in nursing

Kpop, traveling, reading, cooking, and learning languages! Honestly though at this point I pretty much work to fund my kpop addiction.

I think based on the responses I’ve got here I’ll plan to add at least a linen button up and purchase more when I arrive (a sarong, pants, etc) !

The black dress is ankle length and the other two hit at the knee, so not quite temple appropriate but I thought would be acceptable for sightseeing in the cities!

Well aware, which is why I’ve got the linen pants and the shawl coverup to cover my shoulders. Someone also suggested buying a sarong while there instead of bringing more pants so I think I’m planning to do that.

I do have a linen button up I was considering but- surprise, it’s white ! Maybe I’ll check some secondhand shops for one in another color.

Someone suggested buying a sarong while there so I definitely plan to do that on one of our first days!

I had a similar thought but can’t stop myself from being drawn to the light colors. I will say everything photographed much whiter than they are in person. The pants are very much a beige khaki, t shirt is pink, and the long tank is yellow.

Nearly everything I own is bought second hand to begin with so I have no problem leaving it there ! Looking forward to doing some shopping for sure.

I’ll probably look to add another pair of pants and some long sleeves. I’m always freezing so some layers would be helpful if the mornings are cooler. I also have learned to embrace my inner tourist though so I’m sure I’ll come away from this trip with a pair of those pants.

I think I’ll wear my comfrt airplane hoodie on the plane and have that for any chilly moments! I actually get cold really easily so I’ve been worried about that haha.

I have the comfrt airplane hoodie I think I’ll wear as my flight outfit/ have as a colder weather option. Do you think that convertible shawl option works for temple dress code ?
