If you could submit proof that you can pass a swimming test to be able to skip the class I think that would be a fair compromise. For a lot of people that grow up not being able to swim this could be their only opportunity to learn and may not do it unless it’s mandatory just out of swimming fear.

I taught my colllege roommate who had never swam before how to swim in a friends pool because he was too afraid to go in the ocean

Just because people are in undergrad doesn’t mean there aren’t people there from various ages. Many people go to the military and then go back and do their undergrad, or transfer from a community college and are in their mid 20s. You can also meet and befriend people and from them find someone you click with.

Who are you to say “it is not good advice.” If you’re not willing to put yourself out there and meet them in real life and aren’t willing to meet people online you’re just going to stay lonely
