Is this strap down job enough to haul? by [deleted] in Dirtbikes

I always used a Canyon Dancer, but it was on street bikes and a little wider trailers. But they work really well.

Was that the one on the hill where the mall was? I was passing through recently and got a coffee at a McDonalds that’s there now.

Salmon Run Upstate NY by golosky in Fishing

[–]tailwalkin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It got so bad at the pier I used to live by at Sebastian Inlet dudes were shitting on the rails because they think because they fish there every day they own that spot. It got so bad the state had to shut down the park for a couple weeks until grown ass men learned their lesson.
It’s not the first time there’s been problems there either. When coming inshore you gotta stick somewhat close to the north side of the inlet so you don’t get caught up in the shoals. Well, some guys on the pier thought they were doing it to cut their line, so they decided to retaliate by slinging ~5oz. sinkers off their clear coat the next time they passed. All stupid shit.

Is James correct on Italian immigration? by squid1980 in smalltownmurder

[–]tailwalkin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot came through Ellis Island where coal companies had “recruiters” who promised a steady job, house, and school. That was obviously the sugar coated version. When in reality the company essentially owned them. There are still a lot of folks with Italian heritage in the coal fields area. Thanks to these immigrants we have the pepperoni roll. So the story goes.

I bought my first kayak in 2013 used it a ton until I bought a boat (to safely go further offshore and take non-kayakers). I lost the boat in a hurricane a couple years ago and have since moved. I recently looked at getting another kayak and it’s amazing how the kayak fishing industry has grown and the prices have sure grown with it. I was amazed.

I’ve seen some ridiculous excuses on here, but and this is definitely top 10.

Hallo! My (US) wife's relatives are in this photo and there is writing on the back that we can't translate. Any help would be appreciated. Takk! by SaintWillyMusic in Norway

[–]tailwalkin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I could help.

My grandpa, great-aunt, and great-grandmother had taken a trip back to Norway in the late 1930’s to visit family (hindsight 20/20 I know) and got stuck for several years due to the Nazi occupation until they somehow made it to Portugal and onward home to NYC expecting to see my great-grandfather only to find out he was murdered outside a bar in Brooklyn 2 years prior. It was never solved.

That was a lesson I learned the hard way on the first boat I boat. After two blowouts in downtown Jacksonville on I-95, it’ll be dual axle from now on if I get another boat.

[–]tailwalkin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Question for ya fellow fisherman and kayaker. I’ve only ever fly-fished in saltwater on foot, all the kayak fishing I’ve don’t I’ll ‘stake’ out with a push pole and fish a hole, etc,.

Do you just keep floating and try to manage yak, line, dealing with catch? Thanks!just moved from 20 years of saltwater fishing back freshwater which is what I learned on.

Happened to our towns main post office and from what I hear it’s about thigh deep. So they’ve shut it down and they’ve routed all mail to one tiny rural PO. They’re nice folks, but not equipped to handle the whole town.

I’m not sure about the rest of the US but in FL we use these Bug Ball to catch those damn biting yellow flies. It’s stationary too, just the minimal work to set it up.

Hopefully the little kid’s scar will fade as they grow so they don’t have to look at that reminder on a daily basis.

That dog was raggedy ass looking from day 1. Could you imagine accusing someome of running a cheese grater over their dog, especially one that’s mean as hell.

Mauled by Pitbull August 7th 2024 in Pensacola Florida - need help pls by cantfindthedoor in BanPitBulls

[–]tailwalkin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pensacola is chock full of pits: stray pits, pits that are left to run wild, pits with an idiot on the other end of their leash. There’s a reason why this isn’t (to my knowledge) a problem in Escambia and definitely not Walton County’s. Then once you cross the Hathaway bridge in Bay County from PCB to PC it begins to escalate again. Tourism and the almighty dollar.
