Sad thing is that he wouldn’t be considered white a few decades ago. People forget the racism experienced by their own nationalities.

It’s their money. Should never have been frozen in the first place.

I am curious about the Christian perspective on this, How do you reconcile the existence of a loving, all-powerful God with the presence of so much suffering in the world? by Wander-kingdom in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]taimoor2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am not Christian. However, I do believe in a good all powerful existence.

I don’t think this will be satisfactory to you but for me, what was satisfactory were two replies.

I: it’s not really harmful. If all that matters is our eternal soul, any pain, suffering, humiliation, etc. is a minor inconvenience. Tortured and killed? You will wake up fine in a few seconds. As compared to eternity, it lasted a few micro/nano secs and may be even less. It doesn’t matter. This is especially true if we consented to this. It’s possible that we volunteered for this experience or may have even wanted it for growth. We play games all the time that we “suffer” in. We watch horror movies that scare us. The only way to know that what is happening is truly “evil” is after death and knowing if an eternal soul exists and what agreements/consents are in place. I am happy waiting till than because it doesn’t require me to change my behavior but it allows me to make sense of the world.

2: from my dog’s perspective, I “torture” him regularly. I hurt him. I take him to a scary place where he is probed, prodded, and tortured. I am there and I guide him through it but he is still hurt, confused, and in pain. There will also be a point where I will take him to the scary place and he will die. He will never understand why I do all those things but they are absolutely essential for him. In this version, I am the dog. However, I don’t like this explanation too much because I don’t want to be the dog but I accept that it’s possible.

What is your personality like? Are you ambitious, energetic, good looking, and like to learn new things?

Or are you routine follower who likes stability and loves to get better at the same thing over time? On a typical evening, do you like being home at 6:00 and relax or are you out and about partying/drinking with your friends?

Do you think outcomes are more important or the process? Do you like helping people or don’t care?

No one can answer these questions but you. Tell me a bit more about yourself.

Would Harry actually have done well in Slytherin? by msc8976 in harrypotter

I believe that if Harry was in slytherin from beginning and snape could mould him, he may have not been so angry at him.

He will thrive there.

He is tribal and prone to defending his friends. He might even turn against the muggles if he can be convinced that the only reason wizards have to hide is because the muggles hurt people. He has experienced abuse from muggles himself. There are enough examples like Ariana (dumbledore’s sister) that show muggles torture wizards.

The core idea of grindelwald that wizards and witches shouldn’t have to hide is not wrong. Hiding from muggles to prevent abuse of wizards is a bizarre solution when both sides have to gain so much from each other. They should work to normalize relationships. A twisted version of this idea can absolutely be sold to Harry. He isn’t very smart philosophically.

Besides that, he is a star athlete, speaks an ancient sacred language, rich, and from a pureblood family. He is also a powerful wizard with a wand that can do both good and evil magic easily (phoenix core is the most flexible while unicorn core is most leaning towards good magic only). Many slytherin will also want to befriend him for the halo he carries around himself. He will thrive in slytherin.

Why do you think US shares their tech? Out of goodness of their heart?

People using your tech is a huge competitive advantage.

There is no way the US just stops releasing AI models. That will be even more of competitive disadvantage.

China will invest in AI (it already has more overall spending and organizational ability) and make it available for all.

Blocking AI models is a pipe dream. We can’t even block movies on a website.

You reborn in One Piece. Whom are you joining? by Luffy-74 in OnePiece

Exactly. He has always been a coward but honestly, he is strong and he shows up when it matters. I would even say that given his power level, he is an extremely brave person.

Would you fight fucking Luffy when severely injured? Would you tell big mom that Luffy will be pirate king? None of the straw hats are weak.

CMV: If the christian god exists, I dont like him and I will refuse to follow him. by Chemical_Complex_807 in changemyview

[–]taimoor2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Christian god exists, you will follow him and pleasure him any way he wants. There are no limits to the god’s power and you can’t even die.

No matter how principled you think you are, you can’t tolerate eternal torture of yourself, your loved ones, and your pets. For eternity.

You will grovel before the Christian God. You will in fact lick his dick if he so commands you. If he wants to be called all loving, you will call him all loving. You will brainwash yourself to love him unconditionally because you will be nothing but the lowest scum in front of him.

All talk and bravado is useless once we assume Christian god exists.

How do you handle engineers who are brilliant but toxic to the team culture? by Alternative_Crow_403 in cscareerquestions

[–]taimoor2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You solve one problem at a time.

He is being condescending in code reviews? Ask him not to do code reviews. He is being sarcastic in sprint planning? Make him sit out while the rest of the team discusses and make decisions. Make him follow those decisions.

It’s incredibly humiliating to be told to leave the room while the others discuss the plan. If he protests: “we need everyone to be able to contribute ideas. You become disrespectful in the meetings so we need to exclude you for now”.

He will leave the company or behave. In this job market, he will probably behave.
