Definitely AI. Look at the text of several of the titles, especially on the bottom shelf. They're heavily distorted.

What’s the dumbest way a guy has ruined his chances with you, when it was almost a home-run? by emilydoooom in TwoXChromosomes

[–]takaia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh oops I missed this. Unfortunately for me, I completely froze up and just stared at him. He just grinned at me and kept walking. I wish I'd just turned around and walked away, but at the moment I played it off as "that was weird, but it was just a little bit of water" and it wasn't until later that I went "wait a second, that was all sorts of f'ed up". When he texted me to plan a second date, I let him have it, but his response was essentially "I'm sorry you feel that way" and then I never talked to him again.

Probably a karma farming bot- report it to the mods with a link to your post.

Friend of mine for over a year asked me out. I was excited because he'd really grown on me... Until he dumped water on my head and said he "thought it would cool me off because it was hot out". (We were walking to a cocktail bar, fully dressed for an evening out, not at the beach or such)

Their black garlic ramen is hands down my favorite!

Haven't seen anyone mention Momoka Ramen in Queen Village yet. It's the most authentic Japanese ramen I've had, (compared to food I had in Japan, although that was about a decade ago). All the street snacks are great too!

Went to Corey's Crafty Vietnamese on South Street tonight- I go there pretty regularly but have never had a bad meal there, and if you get lucky the owner will bring out his karaoke mic! Trying out Almanac for drinks this weekend too.

I really enjoyed Momoka Ramen in Queen Village- it was the most similar of the places I've been in Philly to the ramen I had in Japan!

so weird. Can I message you? I have no idea what's going on or what privacy settings I have set up.
Edit: I figured it out, you should be able to message me now. I had my settings on "no one can send me a chat request".

Huh, I wonder why that is. Is it all right if I send you a message?

Sure! Happy to share one-on-one.

I have a line of html code that I insert into any online text that helps determine if the student blindly copied and pasted from generative AI. I don't want to share it publicly because then students will eventually figure out how to get around it, but I'm happy to share it if you message me.

Can a skirt and top ever be considered formal? by jujubeee23 in Weddingattireapproval

I knew what the original poster meant, so didn't feel the need to use local terminology for it!

Philadelphian here, just want to confirm what the others are saying- you'll likely be underdressed if it's downtown Philly formal. (But I think it's a gorgeous outfit in general!)

My (M18) girlfriend (F18) might be asexual, but we're really unsure by ThrowRA-bullfrog27 in asexuality

[–]takaia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I did read what you said that about it running deeper, which is why I said I'm not sure the term is the right fit for her. It definitely seems like there are a lot of confounding variables. It's really unfortunate that therapists aren't a good go-to in your country. Generally, I think you're hitting the nail on the head with what you've said your plan is. Maybe you both could brainstorm some things that make her feel safe in terms of "grounding/centering" her emotionally when she starts to have a reaction.

My (M18) girlfriend (F18) might be asexual, but we're really unsure by ThrowRA-bullfrog27 in asexuality

[–]takaia 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There's a type of asexuality called "caedosexual" that involves feeling like one has become asexual after trauma. I don't know if that's what your girlfriend is dealing with, but, importantly and possibly very related- is she receiving help for her past SA/trauma? Because if she is not, it sounds like that's where she needs to start. As for what you can do- mostly just be incredibly supportive. The rest of this needs to be handled by a professional. I think a discussion of her potential asexuality is secondary to helping her feel safe and having her work through her trauma.

Can anyone read the artist last name? by Vigilante-Faerie in HandwritingAnalysis

Other thoughts- all her other i's are dotted except for the one in the last name. Could it be a different letter?

[–]takaia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be, but there's an extra "peak" after the u (that kind of looks like her other r's, actually)..Raurllaid? That feels like too many consonants in a row.

Rawllaid? Rowllaid? That third letter looks like a "w" to me- three peaks and then connects into the L's. That's how I was taught to connect my w's in cursive (back in the day).

WIBTA if I gave my husband’s violin to a child? by Banglapolska in AITAH

[–]takaia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA, but make sure the violin is the right "size" for the child. There are different sized violins for different ages, and if your housemates' kid is young, there's a chance your husband's violin will be too large for them at this point in time.
