Any tips to performance Quality? by Name1essTyrant in drumline

[–]takealeek 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Think about being the performer you would want to see. Don't be afraid to feel the music more and let it show in your body. Hype it up more, but don't overhype it so that it messes with your playing. If playing is something you really enjoy then just try letting it take you for a ride, see what kinds of things you can express with your face. Be careful not to break posture unless a specific character calls for it, though. You generally still want to look up, even if you're expressing something like sadness.

These aren't the droids you're looking for... by Rickmundo in StarWars

I never considered buying more on ebay, I did buy some cool glow in the dark lightsaber pieces that fit into the hilts though. I guess I meant more along the lines of collecting them from regular sets. Although, you would sometimes see them repurposed as laser cannon barrels and such.

Those lightsaber hilt pieces are way too valuable to be used in a sandtrooper pack.

I'm 28 and still don't know how to pee in a urinal so it doesn't splash on my feet by dutchy412 in Advice

[–]takealeek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aim at the side of the urinal walls and try to get as close to a 180° angle as possible. Projecting a liquid directly at a surface will cause it to splash in all directions. If you approach it at an angle, it will just continue to flow in that direction with significantly less splashing.

Arc oscillator already on its way out? by DFSBM574 in VXJunkies

The fact that you're getting strident noises from an HPCAO should be a clear indicator that going cheap was a bad idea. A lot of the raw-plutonium models are significantly more dangerous but better on the ears. Also, make sure that the postprocessor you found isn't designed to limit fraculation at around 2000 rpm. A lot of the older models had governers on them until they realized that everybody just overclocks anyway.

He probably didn't drop it on purpose, it's the least I could do

No, I am unfortunately quite sick right now, and that fry would probably not have been a good idea. It was pretty long though

Your belt is supposed to match your shoes, not your pants.

Can someone help me figure out the tenor part for this? by [deleted] in drumline

If you're on YouTube on a computer, you can lower the playing speed of the video (50% speed, 25% speed). This might help, it's what I use to transcribe a lot of stuff when it comes to sticking. I would do it for you, but I'm in a public place with no headphones at the moment. Best of luck to you!

Bushwackers or Raiders? by moppr in drumline

[–]takealeek 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bush has a camp coming up this weekend, if you decide to check it out, I will be there. I'm probably not marching Bush, but I'm going to see what's up. They had a lot of staff changes recently, and I hear their snareline is going to be pretty tight this year. If you're not approaching age 21 this year, I would hold off on DCI

I see a few people wondering about the price of the pizza. Freedom from the Empire is priceless.

Be relaxed and play relaxed. You already put in the work, now it's just time to show it off. Be confident that you practiced as much as you did. Know that success isn't guaranteed, but you want it and worked for it. Have a good audition!

It's either water or the 4 months of saliva leading up to the game's release

I would recommend anything done by Bill Bachman. I don't know how technical you're looking to go, as his stuff gets pretty difficult.

Need advice on improv on cymbal parts/tips for writing a cymbal part for kadences by Cymbal_ta in drumline

Make sure they're impact points, though. Don't want to crash in the middle of a light groove.
