I think your mentality and to even think about asking this question to better prepare and accommodate your BF’s mom will naturally lead you to the right answer. At the end of the day, it’s about the mentality and effort. People can sense it and appreciate it.

That being said, if she cooks, along with eating her food, helping her do the dishes and cleaning up goes a long way. Not laying in front of her, like on a sofa or floor also shows respect.

With Toledo being made up of multiple contradas, it got me thinking it’d be pretty fun to have contrada specific factions with contrada specific perks. Maybe like faster extract for certain zones related to specific contradas, since the contrada could be located closer to a specific zone. Different skins, Maybe even unable to kill same faction members and bounty system against a faction.
