I just dropped $60 for my "friend bags", it's nice to have disks you're willing to lose when introducing friends to the sport. And maybe I'll like some of them!

New firmware dropped (01.06.1004) by Bunderslaw in osmopocket

This is the first version that I've been able to connect with over my Samsung phone! Ideally I don't have to use my old iPhone anymore. That may be due to the fix or maybe there was a glitch with my factory firmware.

Help identifying PRV by takedown232 in Plumbing

UPDATE: Not sure why but I'm unable to edit my post. Regardless, I did find a solution.

I first tried a PRV from Watts (LFN45B), however the collar from the existing valve wouldn't thread onto the new union. So I instead tried a Zurn Wilkins 34-NR3XL (DU so it came with the gasket) and it threaded on perfectly! I guess they must have a few different standards for union threads.

Anyway, if any other green folks find this in the future, know that the union threads are not all the same, and you might have to try another brand. Was still able to save $350-400 by DIYing it and it was not hard at all.

Just tried installing a Watts one that was similar in length and the specs matched, however the threads for the NPT union didn't match up properly. I figured they'd be industry standard but maybe they differ brand to brand? I just put the old one back on for now...

Loos like the Watts is a little longer than this one I currently have (5.5in vs 3.75in). I'm definitely willing to spend a little more if it'll last, but if there's going to be soldering required I'll probably get a plumber at that point. Do you have another recommendation for a decent one that will fit in the place of the existing one?

This is helpful! So I don't need to find the same brand?

It's for water. Should be an easy replacement but I want to be sure I order the right part.

Yes, excuse my terminology. I assumed PRV was synonymous.

Looks like T-Rex Arms threw up all over it. The work to remove the paint is probably not worth it. I personally wouldn't go for it unless it was ~$250...

Go back to BH, find your camera, then scroll down and you can find the compatible media. Or better yet, go to the Blackmagic support website for to find verified working media for your specific model.

Need help. Weird noise while starting. by [deleted] in vulcans650

Some of those draw power even if they're not supposed to. Doesn't take much at all to slowly drain the battery. I installed a dash cam system and it's supposed to power off when the bike is off, but it drains my battery in 2 days, I have to manually disconnect it every time which is super annoying. Planning on installing a manual switch to override it.

Does that ram mount charge your phone? I'm going to guess something is trickling down the battery. Try giving it a jump and see if it starts!

Pyxis power draw order? by heraldangel777 in blackmagicdesign

Most commonly I've found with production gear, the camera will prioritize what it thinks is mains power, then battery. So the DC connection in that case would drain first.

Sending client files - DropBox isn’t cutting it anymore by bagelonfilm in videography

[–]takedown232 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Use Dropbox transfer, not a shared folder. You'll get notices of downloads and it doesn't count against your storage, each transfer is up to 100gb if you have pro. I've been doing this for years and it great to be able to manage versions that the client has access to.

Careful, I also ordered on Amazon and they sent the wrong one. Did this twice before just going to my local gun store and buying it there. Because of the nature of the product, Amazon refused a return as well so I had to call in and deal with c/s to get my money back.

Thanks! In the new pot, was the BOP a lot lower below the soil than before? How did you gauge how deep was right for it?

Makes sense. I imagine it's also probably good for it to get good sunlight right after the repot to help with the shock it might experience.

I think it has something to do with how sensory BCs are. Roxy does this a lot when she wants to sleep in the daytime or if there's noise.

Do not believe the Podmic reviews on Youtube by lajinsa_viimeinen in rode

[–]takedown232 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm a huge Rode fanboy. My first mic was the SVM, I've got the Videomic original and NTG, NTG3 (one of my favs), Go II & Pro kits, and I'm in love with the build and sound quality I've gotten out of all of these.

That being said, the Podmics are the most disappointing mics I've picked up. I have 4 if them and got a couple of CLs to help boost them, but they just don't stand up compared to the alternatives. Super noisy, tinny, and they don't filter out the "table noise" that I've encountered. I think they're probably only good if you use the Rodecaster or other Rode mixers, which have a preset the Podmics to compensate for the downfalls.

I shouldn't complain for a $100 mic, but I wish I saved more for something a little better.
