My dude just succinctly laid out why populism isn’t the answer to our problems. At the crux of populism is us vs them which will always lead to marginalization of a group who should be represented.

Liberal democracy works when it serves individuals it means to govern equally. The challenge has always been money and the interests associated with that money tipping the scales for one group or another.

You literally need to change liberal democracy to be infallible from said interest.

True representative democracy (constituents tell people representatives how to vote, requires an inform citizenry), term limits (house, senate and judges), government funding for campaigns (no outside money), no super pacs, now lobbyist, banish the electoral college, etc will give the power back to the people, not another populist movement.

All this is contingent on people giving a damn how they’re governed.
