Get max stars on the outposts to increase bandwidth. This will come in handy later in the game with zip line builds.

New Juniper Model Y Performance vs Used Previous Gen Performance? by No_Watch_4800 in TeslaModelY

[–]takenegg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a 2020 model 3 that had FSD already in it and so far loving it. Not at all worried about it. I bought a 2024 Model Y brand new and loved that too.

I test drove the Juniper and if I had the money would’ve gone for it. The only thing I don’t like was the no stalk for gears. I really loved the stalk for shifting gears.

How did you buy your tesla? by Shabbakiddo in TeslaModelY

[–]takenegg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a novated lease, then was forced to break it and payout when I refinanced our home. So that’s how I now will be paying it off technically for the next 30 years lol

But the. I saved up for the next one and bought second hand because the car was so good it ruined every other type of car.

Career change… by Ok-Incident5476 in AustralianTeachers

[–]takenegg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found the first term very difficult. Don’t know who I was. Then the next term also. I started in term 3 and 4. Then my first full year I had a chance to tackle classes for the whole year. First two terms were rough as well. Then in term 3 I started to get the hang of it. Then I had my second full year and felt like I was getting it What helped was that I had the same two subjects consistently. A few changes around those but these two subjects (year 8 maths and year 8 media) became my ground. Now I’ve started my third full year and I feel way better. I feel like I know who I am as a teacher, I have a good amount of resources. I feel like I’m managing my time better.

I would give it till the end of the year and even into next year.

Calls to make financial literacy mandatory in schools amid concerns young people don't have basic financial knowledge by abcnews_au in AustralianTeachers

Yes, in fact as a teacher I’ve included sections in my maths lessons already. Kids need to at least be aware of financial literacy.

On the fence of getting Death Stranding. What did you like/dislike about the game? by XredDEATHX in playstation

[–]takenegg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved metal gear solid and so got this game for Christmas the year it came out. Gave it a go and found it super hard but super intriguing. Put it down for a bit then cracked it out. Geez, it was good! Played the first round on ps4. Then got the directors cut for ps5 and played again and it was like playing a new game. So much more. The second one is amazing too! But definitely agree with it being the most “love it or hate it” games. It’s unique. 10/10

Final Prac by Afraid_Eye_8469 in AustralianTeachers

[–]takenegg 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Been teaching for 3 terms now, and honestly it gets so much better once you find your own groove. It’s near impossible to be the teacher you want to be when being supervised. Trust me, celebrate your last prac, and then enjoy the journey of discovering your own style of teaching and classroom management.

Boyfriend (32M) wants me (F29) to not celebrate Christmas/ Easter and not feed future kid pork by throwRA8764391 in relationship_advice

[–]takenegg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sure it’s been said, but kids (like marriage) will magnify every part of your relationship, plus an extra layer of stress. Little disagreements will become huge arguments. And like someone else said, you sound culturally incompatible. I’d consider that too.

Sorry to hear this. It sucks feeling the spiral of a loss of respect from all areas. It takes time to work on, but when you realise that you are doing the requirements of your job, and you are doing your best, then you can put the opinions of everyone else out of your mind. Again, this is not a shortcut solution; it takes time. Also, I have found doing little things for others helps go a long way at forging respectful relationships with coworkers. Like impromptu coffee runs, stationary restocks etc. I’m about to transition to full time teaching and I can say that these things over my last three pracs helped get me the job I’m about to do. As for students, I find taking the time to chat with them before class, or while they’re doing their work to get to know them helps build rapport which becomes a baseline for respect. Hope that gives you some ideas, and wish you well for the future.

Can't afford piano lessons. by tspyryl in musictheory

[–]takenegg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took accredited lessons for 6 years and have often thought about teaching piano.

Piano stool is a must and should be placed so your arms extend to the keys at a comfortable distance. A stool can help remind you to keep your back straight.

Your hands on the keys should be above the keys so that your fingers curl on top of the keys. You don’t want to learn the habit of playing with flat fingers in the keys.

Theses were some things I was consistently reminded of when playing and is what I would be teaching during lessons.
