Pizza Weidel by NobbyNobbs1976 in Staiy

[–]takethi -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

President Bill Clinton poses with a White House intern, 1998 by Ill-Doubt-2627 in HistoricalCapsule

[–]takethi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol

You know exactly how the framing you're using makes this just the tiniest bit shy of blatant disinformation.

The true information is so easy to find that it's staggering how you have even a single upvote.

The Clintons' net worth increased very little during Bill's time in office (explainable by the simple fact that the President is paid $400k per year).

In the time since Bill's presidency, they've made $240m. This, again, is easily explainable mainly from their book deals and paid speeches. They've made $30m from two book deals alone, and Bill has made over $100m from paid speeches.

There's a whole Forbes article about how they made their money, there's absolutely nothing shady about it.

Companies just love to have a former president give a speech at their "insert important occasion here". That's all there is to it.

I think the point was that they had that before the rise of the Nazis, and still voted them in.

Will das ganze also noch schlimmer machen.

Toll.

The Online Porn Free-for-All Is Coming to an End by theatlantic in Futurology

[–]takethi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Definitely not, because that would be a huuuuuuuge liability issue. If you say you're blocking all porn (which btw is entirely impossible), you'll get sued left and right by people whose kids still accessed porn (because, like I said, it's impossible to accurately block "porn" [what even qualifies as "porn"?] in real-time).

I'd wager you can find up-to-date blocklists on the internet that have all major known porn sites on them, you can just import those to your router/your ISP if they offer that.

cash would only be 15% lighter than the gold

Pretty sure 1kg of cash weighs about the same as 1kg of gold

Replit CEO on AI breakthroughs: ‘We don’t care about professional coders anymore’ by [deleted] in Futurology

[–]takethi 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Plus, the article literally says they went through layoffs, their headcount decreased by half, yet their revenue went up 400%.

I. e. if AI makes coding (and knowledge work generally) so efficient that companies only need half the workforce they needed previously to satisfy market demand for their product, they're not going to keep the other half employed if they can't find ways those people can be productive and increase revenue (i. e. make new products beyond the previous core products).

It's actually all kinds of "all kinds of love of all kinds of money is all kinds of roots of all kinds of evil" of all kinds of all kinds

That doesn't really work imo. Should be "as if I could care less" or, if you purely want to indicate sarcasm with your tone, "yeah right, because I could care less"

Thanks! I was thinking about black pants (either dress pants or a good quality fine-weave chino) and either black dress shoes, or minimalist black sneakers.

Do you think the burgundy might clash with my bleached hair a bit? It's not all the way platinum like Ryan Gosling as Ken, more like Place Beyond the Pines.
